  2. Hey mate , there's no hard and fast rules, i've heard of lads dropping rats for 12 week old puppies and them dealing with it, for me i'd say about 6 months is a good age but it all depends on the dog really

  5. Its amazing how many farmers and keepers would let lads on if they just went and spoke to them, put a clean shirt on and try and not look like your part of a paramilitary group and in most cases, if done properly farmers will give you permission, anyway good on you Rik
  6. There look an alright camera , but if i were you id stick with one of the big two , Canon or Nikon, or if you want to go a little outside the box maybe Sony (Old Minolta lens' fit them )

All my dogs are broke to cats and any other domesticated stock, my son has 2 rabbits, we have hens, geese, ducks, pea fowl, guinea fowl, horses Goats, I will not tolerate killing things that are off game, all my terriers work Racoon , Possum , fox, and work them hard, those same terriers can be left in the laundry room all night with the 2 cats and i know the cats are safe, A good example was last week where we were hunting ( new permission) it was on a Menonite farm ( kind of like Amish ) this fellas farm and barns were full with feral cats, that he liked to have around to keep the mice and

Erik i don't know about Mexican coon's, but the canadian coon's i hunt have no shortage of fight, obviously it depends from coon to coon, but most of the lads that are from the UK that have seen terriers working Coon's have said they are a formidible opponent, if you don't rate Coon's as having much fight what do you hunt that does have fight in Mexico

  21. good to hear the hounds were hunting well, and glad you're not just one of those guys that just hammers the hell out of the foxes regardless of time of year, i appreciate that if there's ewe's lambing or gamebirds that need to be protected then thats a different situation, but anyway good on ya

Hey Dido, i used to whip-in to the Vale of Lune Harrier back in the mid 90s, They had alot of good country , most in North West Lancashire and getting on for Westmoorland/Cumbria, i do recall some of the old boys talking about the Oxenholme Staghounds, here is a very good link to some old packs more on the westmooreland side but still good reading and some great old photo's Oxenholme Staghounds
