Well today, Johnnyboy68 and I went on a bit of a mission Johnnyboy appeared at mine around lunch, and we jumped in the motor. Just shy of 4 hours later we were pulling into a service station somewhere in the vicinity of Bolton A quick cup of tea and over priced burger later, and the reason for our drive had appeared, none other than Frankel from here, complete with the Don dog and one of his pups in tow. We had a good chat for half an hour or so, the usual dog talk and then hit the road again, this time with the pup on the back seat Another 4 hours and we were sitting in Joh

Have you got any long nets , ????? A stop net and can get a quick set. Never really use them, as the purse nets and dogs do the job And we ain't got the terrain for it

Maybe a little Can't get out ferreting as much as i'd like at the moment though and the dog needs excercise, so . . . . I wouldn't jab her, it's part of nature, just enjoy the rest, and be the bag man

We have fat rabbits, but that one is also carrying. Not far gone, couple of weeks at most. But its standard now mate, i'd say % of all the does ive had since the start of this month have been in kit, and thats from several parts of wales and england. Yet to see any puff balls on the lamp though.

When i got home from work earlier it was windy, dark and wet. So i hit the sack for a few hours with the intention of getting up and going for a good wander tonight. However, on stepping out the wind had gone, the rain had gone and the temp had dropped leaving the grass crispy as feck. So it was like walking on crisp packets. Got three very long slips at hedge sitters in the first couple of fields, had two, should have been three. He had lifted the third one, but couldnt stop in time and slammed through a hedge and dropped a few feet into an over grown ditch, losing the rabbit from his jaw

Cheers matey He still has his moments, but he is def coming a long. I can now even slip him, and if the rabbit jumps into cover while he is still on his run up, knock the lamp off and call him back, rather than knock the lamp off and go and pull him out of the woods lol. He still does what he wants most of the time, it's just luckily getting more in line with what i want. The little git.

I give them a good feed in the evenings, and usually chuck in a rabbit or two, and sometimes a bit of dry (there are ten ferrets together), They eat as they please, and sometimes even get the odd bit of kidney etc during the day if im feeling generous. They work because they love to hunt. Having said this, none of my ferrets are over fed, they are always ready for the grub when it hits the courts floor, and you can tell that they are fed enough to be strong and healthy, but not enough to make them slow and lazy.

The weather is pretty good here, but i have work in the morning, so just had a quick local stomp, had about 6 runs, got 4 of them, should have been 6 really, but lost 2 into cover. Saw charlie, he was having none of it.
