  1. Foxtails.... It was accidentally trapped, and brought to me in a fairly bad way.....to be rehabilitated. No way was it being tamed! And I don't understand the compulsion to try. I have good working ferrets that to me don't have any failings. I have no idea what the addition of wild blood would add that would bring anything to the table with regard to their working application ? I guess it's just a novelty thing, folk like something different, and that's their calll. Something I don't understand from my limited ex Xperiance of wild poleys, is how folk can breed pures and end up with hand

  3. cheeky How is that cheeky, the guy isnt parting with his best worker under duress. . . . hes getting shot of all his ferrets. If I was him, a decent home, in that situation would be a million miles more important than making coin off my workers. And if I wasnt selling up and someone wanted to buy, there is no price, because they are not for sale. . . . . . . . I'm also skeptical of the phrase 'top worker'. . . . . how often do you hear that? Simple..because £50 for a Vas hob and 3 working jills is an insult to the previous owner...Showing that you view his little soldiers with scept

  5. Te prices of gun dogs vary and are at times crazy. A lot of it is purely to do with the fact that the sport is rather 'moneyd'. However, I do agree with paying for the right blood etc, at the end of the day quality costs money. However, some of the prices for what you are getting is just a joke. When buying a gun dog I would want not only top breeding, but also two parents, and grand parents etc, who are actually quality in the field, not just on paper. I have seen plenty of dgs around the 600-800 mark that, whilst their peds do look half decent, have just the same old names that a shit ton of
  6. Never gave him a chance, but.... He did seem interested in it in a totally different way than the ferrets, even by smell.
  7. Very foolishly ...... Not. To be honest I never once saw it out and about the run or cage during the day, but it became very active at night. It was a solid brute. And nothing like most of the so called eus I've seen or heard about. Interestingly he ripped the bars away from the wood and escaped, not mesh either.......then killed a couple of chickens and vanished. It's also interesting that the dogs knew he wasn't a ferret....

  9. So basically ,, it was Scottish ? Did I say it was ginger?
  10. I'd offer him 50, covers his op fees. I only wouldn't offer him more for the ferrets as he is choosing to sell, rather than being asked to.
  11. Aye I had a wild one for few months, i was rehabilitating, unhandleable, untameable .... Stood out from regular ferrets by its size, muscle tone and speed. Eventually it ripped its way out of the cage and escaped. I'm pretty sure it would have killed any Jill I tried to mate it with. It only ate flesh, it only came out at night.
  12. Yer..... When we're out with you.
  13. Seems like a daft idea, it's break things up too much, you can write about ferreting dogs in the ferreting section, and you can write about rabbiting lurchers in the lurcher section. But I think that a coursing creche would be a good idea, at least all (well most) of the muppets would be in one place, writing shit, in a sealed container, the rest of us could ignore. The greatest downside however, would be to make coursing look like it is a sport exclusively participated in, by idiots. . . . . .
  14. is that wat thay mean about giving the evil eye lol How's the old bitch doing D?
  15. Fairplay millet she is looking fit there
  16. what way is this one bred mate? That's owned by the abive member patterdalejoel mate - i've been out with her and shes a cracking wee dog, ideally suited to the ground he works. I think she is half whip half bed and half spider monkey?
  17. Working hard . . . . Radar ears . . .
  18. Not mine - but we were talking about this bitch today. She opened my eyes to how versatile a dog a coursing bred dog can be, and that they can make good all round rabbit dogs. She ferreted with patience, bushed, and ran the lamp extremely well.
  19. How old is your bitch B.D? and if you were going to breed her, do any of the hounds on here catch your eye? Hypothetically speaking that is.
  20. Aye. . . . it's always the way, some prick needs to jump in and start giving someone shit for no reason. . . . . that's just THL rob. Hopefully it'll stop now.
  21. This place is a joke. . . .

  22. great wee vid and one of my dozen or so ........... and for ideation its not so much compare as admire and i know some like scottish hare hunters 'mia' , rays 'bryn' , the 'don' dog, borderscots merle dog and many more of similar quality have still to put in an appearance.....they're maybe just trying to be fashionably late and make an entrance lol Out of the dogs i've actually seen in the flesh work. . . . in her day i'd honestly pick J.B's Gem. . . . and i'm not saying that because he is a mate. I've never hunted with a dog as tuned in to what is going on as her, she's done what need
  23. Who was making it a numbers game mate? And why don't your balls want to be bigger?
