I think a touch of good beardie blood makes them shine when it comes to daytime hunting/mooching over a straight border collie lurcher.......especially when there's not much about. I can't for the life of me understand why they're not more common.

W.man, love that first pic.

The Russell will work the thickest of cover and into the smallest of places, its second nature to them, if there's the scent of a rabbit there she's in.....great little dog, had duck, pheasant, all sorts with her...great house dog too. The black lurcher is half border collie greyhound nearly 12 years old about 24/25 inch to the shoulder. The little sandy pup is now 22 months old she is 19.5 inch tts...dam bedlington whippet x sire collie/greyhound x whippet.

Once you at the stage where he brings the rabbit to you don't take it off him straight away...stroke/ praise him etc for a couple of secs then take it off him.

I with regards what with what to go with the bushing dog, how a about 1/4 bedlington 3/4 whippet......whippet or any small lurcher........1/2 bedlington whippet would be a nice addition, but may want to get in the bush along with the terriers. I've always worked jack Russell's for bushing, just your average granny lap dog style jack russell, all seem to take to it like a duck to water, only had one that goes to ground for a quick look, but that rarely happens and if it does its usually down a rabbit hole. Bitch I'm working at the minute is ten years old and is a fantastic little worker....

Aigle Parcours Wellies Help Me Out.
wuyang replied to Country Joe's topic in Hunting Boots & Clothing
I had the aigle without neoprene in my actual correct size.....great wellies...fitted well, tight to get off. Went and bought the same ones same size with the neoprene, I'm certain it's the same template they use size wise and then add the neoprene if that make sense......which made the wellie far too tight for me, ended up getting half a size bigger to allow for the width. If you have wide feet get half a size bigger. If you do some searching on ebay you may drop on a bargain, I got the neoprene ones for about seventy quid. -
Saw these advertised, probably make excellent daytime grafters.....with the potential for a bit of noise. Strangely things like this always appeal to me.

Wonder if the game nature is down to the terrier blood used well before mb was even born?Whippets have always been game. If anything i think the tendency for their skin to rip is worse now.Well yes whippets have always been game wee dogs.Bull blood has always been there, its not like mb reinvented the wheel.I'm allowed my opinion....which is mike brown has added bull blood and passes them off as 100% pedigree whippet....Of course you are allowed your opinion. What mb has done in his breeding has made his whippets the great working dogs they are.I can see what your saying and I do like his dogs,

Don't know how much truth is in this, it could be a load of rubbish, but I was reading about raw food and somewhere it mentioned you get a more even growth rate with fewer growth spurts as compared to feeding a complete.....like I said could be codswallop.

Pot kettle black!

Definitely got a dash of bull in mb whippets...stands out a mile. Someone's got one near me as a pet...nice, but Christ for a whippet it's slow.....don't be blinded by thinking mb whippets are the be and end all, whippets by there very nature are game little dogs that love to hunt, just get a pup off two good worked whippets.

Are you not tempted with a little lurcher?

Just How Much Protein Does A Puppy Require?
wuyang replied to wuyang's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Ive taken it far too seriously before mate and it just becomes a headache. I used to weigh stuff, have a chart for what meat on what days and what carb source. It gets silly. Just feed the dog something decent and keep it varied. My pup has just had tripe as its main food source for the last 3 days, but I arent concerned, she will probably get beef or chicken for the next 3. As said above im finding it easier to mash the biscuits into the meat than to get rice and veg in her, she just spits them out and eats the meat. I am also giving her a drink of that LACTOL puppy milk every night b -

Thanks all....appreciated. I think your right, sit back relax and use a bit of common sense. It does seem to be a subject that can get over complicated. -
Having a new puppy and posting a question about raw a few days ago got me thinking,,,,,I know it's each to their own with regards what you feed. Obviously I got varying answers regarding positive for just raw and some preferencing of separate mix rotating raw and a complete feed with around 30% protein because puppies need high protein to grow to their full potential and without incorporating the complete puppy feed they feel they might not be getting the full amount of protein they need to grow to their full potential Well no surprises the pup prefers minced chicken, red meat, fish etc an
