  1. yes Fensaluki may have hit the nail on the head if it's fireworks, the dogs will try to escape,i have a couple here always running away, have to keep them in the house, observe her indoors when fireworks are going off, good luck and hope you find the problem, Higgins.
  2. just a thought, have you been spending more time with pup,she may feel left out, although i don't think that would be the real problem, maybe she is on heat and looking for a dog to mate with. When a bitch comes on heat they are more interested in escaping and getting served by a male(s),does your friend own a male dog? This is the only thing i think it could be,keep us posted, Higgins.

    Hunting Ban

I'm wondering whether the ban may increase hunting in packs, know of a person who gave up terriers and started hunting with hounds instead, another effect of the law change is terriermen digging at night as opposed to daytime digging, less chance of being caught or seen easily, also the ban has a certain effect on most of us not trusting one another, maybe that was one of the original intentions of the government to make us all less cohesive('divided we fall' we are easily governed if we do not stick together).Certainly poaching will increase as a result of having to gain 'permission in writing' an
  4. But some are more equal than others!! The first and last Hunt Ball i went to, i got looked down at as i did'nt speak with a plumb in my mouth. Sad but true, i was snubbed by most . it would have been worse if you had both plums in your mouth I'd have to be double jointed to get my plums in my mouth Tom ....or you could be kicked in the plums till they end up in your mouth

    Hunting Ban

Always thought it was just to get the votes from hunting folk to suit themselves.....don't really want the Tories back in but the other parties are no better.....i stopped voting since it never made any real difference who was in power, they're only in it for the power they can wield over everyone.
  6. Glad she pulled through Swamps, let's hope she's on the mend, yes we all get a lump in our throats,i took a hob to vet a few months back hadn't had him long myself, but he had a large tumour on top his head,to cut a long story short it was better to put him to sleep(i guess brain surgery is not advanced with ferts and too costly!)anyway i felt my eyes beginning to well up as i watched the lethal jab being delivered, the poor thing never complained and i was suprised at myself for feeling soft, must be an age thing or reflecting emotions thinking back, hope she gets well anyway.
  7. just to prove the point,he has decided to appeal against his sentence, just shows he still won't accept he done wrong even though he was convicted,i just hope his sentence gets extended when he appeals. There is no humility in tossers like him.
  8. While he's inside, what will he say to the other inmates if he gets rejected for sexual harrassment?
  9. Priceless Tomo, part of the reason for posting this topic was really about that phrase'Do you know who i am'and how it becomes adopted by nearly famous wannabes, full of their own self inflated egovanity.
  10. Been following the case about Marlon King the footballer involved in a sexual harrassment case and punching a girl because she rejected his advances.Always knew he would go down for it,just shows the ego at work when he said to her' Do you know who i am?I'm a millionaire!'I bet he sure wishes people didn't know who he is now,he has been sacked and i think he got 18 mnths prison, the smug prick even denied it was him although several witnesses recognised him, someone was quoted as comparing him walking in a club as like David Beckham walking in one.Overpaid footballers should never be allowed

  12. Nice one JoeD,top marks for digging it out tho',lets hope you backfilled now eh?
  13. Yes i was thinking about some of the claims in that report,i mean £1000 for a billy, were in a recession for christs sake,i 'd have believed it if it was £100.......
  14. just wondering JoeD you didn't mention a locator at all (unless the word 'TRACK 'is refering to a locator?)so i assume it was 9ft after you measured the hole you dug? Not only will you never forget your spade next time, you'll also have invested in a ferret locator to save time, but then why bother you did well without one this time LOL. No I must admit I didn't use a locator and was following the dogs nose i started digging up a tunnel that the dog was marking, and it just got deeper and deeper then the dog was fixed on one spot so dug down and kept going till I found it. But I will
  15. Yes JoeD you really should've taken a picture, some of us are in awe of your digging prowess, you don't own a terrier by any chance and are not prone to exaggeration?

  17. Thanks jt750,these stories are like repeated from the pre ban days,i wonder if they just bring them out every so often to focus on hunters,i know at the moment the RSPCA have their own cruelty highlighted lately in the euthanasia department,so maybe this is to divert attention from their own cruelty?
  18. not read the paper yet just saw the headlines on sky news, tried your link but getting an error jt750.

  20. 9 ft is some digging for a ferret pal,but glad you got the fert back,i don't think you'll be going without a spade on your next ferreting trip!By the way,i'm ferreting some really deep rabbit warrens soon and could do with someone handy with the spade.....
  21. It's a food supplement that most ferts seem to absolutely love, mate. It's not medicinal as such, but does contain various vitamins, amino acids & other supplements that helps keep them in tip top condition, as well as making things like nip-training & nail-clipping a helluva lot easier! I generally get it from here Thanks Quixote, but i don't think this would work in this case since the ferret is not eating normally,i would imagine it is excellent with ferrets with good apettites and in otherwise good health,it does sound like it is a tonic which would boost their diet and ge
  22. Quixote, what is Ferretone? Is it a medicinal tonic or a quick fix panacea?Forgive my ignorance, but it sounds like a ferret tonic, does ferretone work in extreme cases, since i got ferrets back on i haven't heard of it or had need to buy it thanks, Higgins.
  23. he did say he wanted advice after the jill not been eating for 36 hours, the only advice that could be safely offered was the vets at least to rule out any serious illness/viruses that may be knocking about,i expect he is upset and trying to nurse the jill emotionally, all i can say regarding ill ferrets is that the future is not bright if people are unwilling to visit the vet, also the vets fees do not help at all,the truth is the cost of a replacement ferret is far cheaper than treatment and as long as ferrets are cheap and vet treatment is high, this will remain so for a long while, Higgins.
  24. Swamps,if she is losing weight fast then possibly giving her some Dioralyte fluid to prevent dehydration(dehydration is to be avoided at all costs)even if it has to be forcibly taken, may help in the meantime, loss of weight and body fluid are what you need to watch until proffessional help or a sudden recovery has appeared, just a thought.
