any good advice welcome please
black lab replied to allrounder lad's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
If you were going to be refused your SGC they would not have done the checks and asked you a few questions regarding safety... If they have cashed your application payment then all is well, they dont cash cheques unless they are going to grant permission, if they do you can appeal and the guy from BASC will represent you as you say, i wouldnt worry to much, they have to give a good enough reason for refusal, and your convictions dont warrant a refusal, mines is far worse than yours by a long shot and i got mine OK Lothian & Borders issued it. are you a dodgy punter? LOL. could not resi -

Wow!!!!! You guys are funny!!! Down under the 270win has had a great following for many years. It is the min. cal. for Sambar Red Chital Rusa Fallow and elk. Whilst .243 is min. for hog deer. In my extensive experience with this cal. it will smash fallow and reds. It too is on the larger side of the spectrum of cals. for fallow as it does cause meat damage due to its velocity(balistic or hydrolic shock.)It does seem to punch straight through in most instances and would not use it on smaller game than this. Its pros are great longe range flat and fast. The way i see it, it's were you p

I know her just to say hello, she stay's in one of the cottages where i drive pass to get onto one of the plantations, and one of my rules is "it's nice to be nice" cost's me nothing, where she stay's there is about five cottages and one of them has a very large cat its crossed with a bob cat, short tail, large ear's pointed with the tuff,s of long hair from the tip's , it's just a kitten she say's just a bit smaller than my lab,it's paws are the same size as my fist, comes up and purr's against your let just like a cat! when i am out for the foxes with the lamp she shites her self if it's out

I am sorry to say but nearly every heart & lung shot with me runs on it may only be two yards or can be as far as fifty, I don't think you need to be sorry! Heard a couple of keepers talking about some Sika they had shot and both had run. They found them, one on top of the other. To quote them: "If you shoot a deer in the heart/lung and it goes straight down, you are using the wrong rifle or bullet" I must admit i shoot most of my deer either neck or head up to 100-120 yards as long as you have a good rest for your rifle, and you know what you can do with your rifle, if

,may come back down later on before dark, as its only 3 mins drive from my house. How did you get on then? Never went back out there was a very bad car crash, very close to where i have seen the Roe's, traffic police, fire engine's the lot, the road was closed so i just turned back, went out this morning to the same area, sat at my usual spot behind drystane dyke, waited 10mins then a Roe came out of the woods into the plantation and made its way down towards me, it was very windy this morning would have cut right throught you, eyes watering the lot,[north easterly] waited until she

I am the same neck or head shots, a lot of people are against it, but i think its up to the person if he knows his rifle and what he can do with it, i am sorry to say but nearly every heart & lung shot with me runs on it may only be two yards or can be as far as fifty, and if there near a wood if you do not have your dog with you, you have a c--t of a job to find it.

Dry frosty morning YE HA! went out for a stalk this morning{before light} planted my bum at the corner of a plantation of young trees in tubes approx 40acres, scanned area with bino's and there were 3 Roes spotted just inside wood, watched them for 20mins then they started to coming out of wood into new plantation, bin's up again & noticed it was Doe's approx 400-500yards from me, before i even thought of which way to stalk up to them, they scampered back into the wood, i knew they had not winded me nor seen me, then a woman appeared over the hill with 2 border collies, end of that stalk,
