  1. Bloody hell I would have thought that lefty mole Pesky would have been on here commenting before now lads
  2. I bought one in .177 when they first came out, and it absolutely blinded the opposition, all my mates had .22 BSA airsporters, mercurys meteors, and the odd Diana, they simply could not believe the ranges I was dropping squirrels and bunnies, I never chrono tested it, but I suspect it may have been rather hot, from the factory, I still prefer the look of the mk1s over the more modern ones, and will get another one day, the only rifle I reckon rivalled the back then, was my tuned BSF b55 Bavaria, what a rifle that was, and still kick myself to this day for swapping it, cant remember if it was
  3. Perfect, mate, lots of old Scottish roe stalkers still call the .222 the hand of god
  4. I think you will find .30-06 IS a military calibre mate if you are going to shoot boar, .270 is the minimum, and what a cracking all rounder a .270 is, its a necked down .30-06 as is .25-06, .270 would be a superb choice mate.
  5. No doubt our lefty friends will be on soon, to tell us what nasty wacists we weally are, and we should feel that our miserable Anglo Saxon culture is being enriched by these vermin, well you know what boys off.
  6. Yes mate the factory crimp die is a superb bit of kit, use it on all my reloads, google Hodgon reloading data centre, lots of .222 loads there mate, when taking advice about other peoples loads, always start low and work up slowly, .222 is one of the most accurate calibres around, and very hard to find a load it does not like, have fun.
  7. A heavy load of number 3s will do the job nicely, with 3s you hit him with plenty of shot, almost guaranteeing something will reach a vital organ, the bigger shot, whilst having a lot of energy, and will kill instantly if a vital organ is struck, can develop holes in the pattern quickly, and keep the range down, 30 yards max.
  8. I disagree with you with passion. That is your prerogative my friend, but as I said in 35+ years of airgunning, I find the smaller calibre gives better instant kills, any calibre will kill with a shot to the head, nobody can argue against that, but when a body shot has to be taken, against something like a wood pigeon, I feel the extra penetration of .177 gets the job done better, I cant honestly recall a pigeon flying off from a side on .177 pellet, but have seen it many times with .22, so I know which one I will stick with, but whatever you shoot, enjoy it
  9. No these will just be from the minority that give the rest a bad name, I keep telling you, why dont you listen
  10. As above for my next project, MUST be the new model with the Minelli stock, and the cocking lever modification, not interested in any old models, PM details, cash waiting for the right rifle, Cheers.
  11. My apologies mate, but I am forced to respond when attacked, by a moron, good luck with the swap/sale.
  12. Fabricate claims, and what might they have been then? And please enlighten me at what part did I say I owned two r8s? I also know my way around shotguns, rimfire and centerfire rifes, so please dont presume to lecture me about something I have forgotten more about than you will CLEARLY ever know, you keep referring to the modification as dangerous, how can you possibly say that when you have absolutely no idea how it is done, clearly you think anyone who tunes/modifies an air rifle or firearm themselves is some kind of accident waiting to happen, perhaps all the other lads on here who "tinker"
  13. I bet that face is a little red now, I see you have not replied after re-reading the post, well done
  14. What on earth are you rambling about man? I was not claiming it was potentially dangerous, I was quoting YOU, saying the mod could be dangerous, in future I would make sure you have had a few less special brews before posting and making yourself look an utter fool, which is what you have done I am not sure if I have harmed you in a previous life but the way you have ripped into me, without having a clue about what you are talking about suggests I possibly have I have no intention of taking this hi-jacking of the lads thread any further by arguing with a complete bafoon like you, now take you
  15. Dont be so silly, the standard trigger is not good, creepy and not very adjustable, potentially dangerous? Do tell me how (this should be good) when you have no idea of the modification I mention, and how do you know I have no gunsmithing experience? You do presume rather a lot my man
  16. I have a Boyds stock on my Weatherby .243 (same rifle as Howa) and let me tell you this is one of the most accurate cf rifles I have ever owned/used, if you dont like the Hogue stock, by the Vanguard with a nice wood stock, the Jap engineering is excellent, they represent the best value for money rifles in the country, simple as that.
  17. True, so shoot with the dismal trigger until the warranty expires then mod it into a nice two stage number and the mod is easy to reverse, so nobody would be any the wiser anyway.
  18. Well it still seems to be getting plenty of likes I would love to hear what the great unwashed are saying about it
  19. I still think the scratch/wound on the arm bit is best
  20. How fu*king pathetic, comparing someone taking a deer (and lets not forget wild deer belong to nobody until they are dead) and some scumbag bag head, or house breaker, it must be wonderful being so perfect, and saintly
