  4. Had some good bags on the banks at the back of Croxston Kerrial , i was only a kid then and the two blokes i went with used to have a gutsful at a pub at Waltham on the Wolds , after that they were ready to fight all the Belvoir keepers one handed .
  5. The worst trap ever was the Gin trap , it was simple, efficient, and deadly . It caught in large holes and unlike Fenns , Juby and Imbra traps it caught in small holes too , i have nothing against modern legholds but it was a good days work when the gin was banned

  7. Like any other trap its only as good as the man setting it, saying that it is a little more forgiving and easier to set than a Fenn 6 . For my money the best kill trap is the Juby , it suits me because its virtually hands free but weight is an issue .

  10. i was tossed by a Friesian bull in the 70s , i was in hospital 3 week s and if it had been polled i would have killed me
  11. Had the first little dabble of the season this morning ,just one ferret and a few nets , i only done one set and topped three rabbits , i saw a few rabbits run into other sets but there was no small ones among them
  12. The latest offering in the Pest Control section is Hows Your Day , by Shropshire Mole . pure drivel in my opinion, more suited to the general section with the rest of the daft threads.
  13. i dont think so mate i think that they are stress related injuries from the mother
  14. caught this one last night in my neighbours garden , it was a 3/4 grown doe rabbit one ear was badly chewed and the other was missing, from the age of the rabbit and how well the injuries had healed it must have been done in the nest
  15. where i live you would have to have a man on duty just to release foxhounds from these traps ,.........a very good trap but the country is to small and over populated .
  16. set five traps yesterday in some goods sets that have plenty of rabbits in them, only one rabbit this morning though , lots of geese on the stubbles and hundreds of ducks , the ducks lifted as soon as i entered the field but the geese sat till the dog got among them
