  1. i take my spaniel with me when i go trapping or snaring if there is a rabbit in a trap she will sit feet from the hole and stare at it, if it is a rabbit in a snare she will just stand there all nervous . When i firsst took her i had her in snares three times twice by the lower jaw and once by the muzzle , i also caught her by the paw in a imbra trap , when thee events happened she was not hurt and just stood still waiting to be released , nowdays she will move through a line of snares and not go near one .

  3. WATCHED [ALASKA ,THE LAS T FRONTIER ] YESTERDAY , IN IT THEY WERE SNARING RABBITS, THEY WERE WHITE AND BIGGER THAN OURS BUT THEY USED HOLES THEY USED A SINGLE WIRE TIED ONTO THE BRASH WITH A SMALL LOOP, THEY LOOKED LIKE HARES TO ME BUT THEY CALLED THEM RABBITS , ANY ONE KNOW WHAT THEY WERE??

  5. thats the place jim ,i used to go in the 70s -80s ,it was alive with rabbits ,all big field sets , used to go Luton and Warmington THEY WERE CLOSE BY , HAD SOME GOOD BAGS ON THE LAMP AT THOSE PLACES THE UK IS A SMALL PLACE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO TRACKING WERE THE BUNNYS ARE,,,LOL BUT HAVING SAID THAT THE NUMBERS ARE DOWN IN THAT AREA, DO YOUEVER GET ROUND THRAPSTON JIM? THERE ARE SOME CRACKING PLACES IN THAT AREA , THERE USED TO BE A CREW OF 5 BLOKES WHO WORKED THE GROUND IN THEM PARTS I WENT OUT WITH THEM ONE FEBUARY IT WAS JUST OUTSIDE KETTERING ON THE THRAPSTON ROAD THE FARMERS NAME WAS

  7. i was at Elton on the A! one morning and the river had burst its banks and flooded the rabbits out,we saw rabbits actually sitting in the hedgerow above the water, further up the field where there was no standing water but the holes were still flooded a rabbit ran into a hole and drowned itself right in front of us .Another time i was there i broke a rabbits neck and it ran for fifty yards before keeling over, there was alot of rabbits there and the other side of the a1 on the east of england show ground, i would think its a bit hot around those spots nowdays

  9. power lines is right TC , i saw a fox on it this morning but it had only stripped the neck , when i returned 30 minutes later there were four magpies on it and they had really broken it up

  12. old boy i once knew used to cut and sell a lot of blewy's, back in the early 60s he sold them in the working mens clubs for ten bob a bag, he always chucked a few blades of grass in each bag as it made the blue stand out
  13. i have read on another forum that the Mk 4 may be going , some people on there have examined the Mk 5 but there concerns about its build quality.
  14. Hello Micky, do you use the Jubys much? I have some and like you said they are somewhat of a weight to transport around. I find the Imbras a better trap. i struggle to set imbras these days because of problems with my hands i like the juby because you set them with your foot, weight is not a problem as i just chuck them in a wheelbarrow and set off
  15. the best there is IMO , i set a dozen the other day for five rabbits , a good trap but very heavy
  16. todthough they have been selling them at Melton Market for the past 6 weeks these were the first of my season, their was a lot of buttons coming through and saturday will be a good picking day if i can find a market.
  17. i sold some imbra traps to a chap this morning and whilst he was settling up his mate was having a little play with them , he had told me that a few years back he been setting a fenn in a rabbit hole and it had fired and caught his hand breaking his thumb, well this morning he caught the same thumb in a imbra , he was hopping about effing and hollering and it took him ten miutes to calm down then a further five for his mate to get it off. After they left, me and my Mrs agreed that although his thumb was looking swollen and bloody that there was nothing broken , we then sat down with a cup of t
