Its idleness, people just look at a picture and press like, well i don't like , if you have a interest in a subject and come on to a forum then i think that you should engage in it . i have stopped posting in the ferreting section because of Likes and remarks like KEEP AT EM MATE, to me the site is going stale the topics are dying off one by one and the only section that seems to be thriving is general talk

They are Juby traps and i rate them above other traps mainly because i can set them with my feet, other traps like fenn or imbra i can no longer open with my hands , another good thing about them is that you can set them very hard and they will still fire even under the weight of a young rabbit or rat , the downsides of this trap is they are twice the weight of other rabbit killing traps and a little bulkier A sprung Juby is rare and i think when it does happen the reason is rats , when a rabbit steps on the plate it is already between the jaws where as a rat stepping on the plate

Out yesterday and set a few traps , the site was a huge old rabbit warren on a steep slope leading down to the main road , i set the traps in blocks of four spaced out across the top of the warren in what i thought were the best holes , i arrived there this morning and saw a few rabbits bouncing about but i had only caught one and had another trap fired , i will leave the traps down a little longer as a site like this patience is required and more than a little luck . if you have any advice or criticism please write it down as i do not want any of those effing likes. b

Pheasant Prices At Melton Market
micky replied to micky's topic in Driven, Walked Up, Rough Shooting
me and my mrs and a few old folks were the only ones left and when we went there was hundreds of pheasants left unsold plus trays and trays of eggs -
i went market this morning and had a look in at the dead sales , the chap next to me paid £5 for 50 brace, i asked him what he was going to do with them and he said ;don't know ,i only wanted a couple of brace ; two minutes later he bought another 50 brace , 200 birds for a tenner and we have food banks

most of the people who cause trouble are drunks, nutters , and drug users in the old days they just shipped them of to the nut house for thirty days and that was that, nowdays most of the nut houses are closed so they end up atA&E and the police are happy with that.

My daughter deals with this on a daily basis , last fri/sat had one come in , young Roma bird ,blind drunk , said she had taken some tablets and promptly shit herself , it took three of them two hours too sort her out and they found out she was covered in head lice when she was told that she kicked off again , when my girl got home early saturday morning she hadto put all her clobber in the washer and treated her hair, after she had fed her husband and kids she came around to our place and my missis done her hair again with some better stuff [£9] then went bed before her next shift

its no use just pressing the like button write something , put a picture up , have a opinion , take part , there are enough people looking , why not add something instead of just pressing the like button lots of people who put interesting and informative posts have left or do not bother posting and people always say its because of all the bitching going on , well its not ,they are all grown up and can take a bit of criticism and the odd bollicking, its because no one else posts
-
i am sure someone on here will advise you, but tell me , what are you going to use it for ? i note that you have made purse nets , do Americans go ferreting ? put some pictures up mate i would love to see how they go about it the other side of the pond .

Well done Terry , its nice to see a new face posting on this part of the forum as there seems a a lack of interest in topics concerning the trapping or snaring of rabbits , the forum seems to be going in a different direction now days , perhaps we could inject a little life into the subject with posts on snaring muslims or trapping homosexuals as these things seem seem to attract more interest to members on what was once a very good hunting site muslim rabbit sneaking into the country looking for young white rabbits to abuse

My grandfarthers both kept and worked ferrets around 1910 they always fed whole carcasses guts ,feathers , skin , the lot , they would never have dreamed of giving them bread and milk or pork product also up to the 1950s no woman would buy a rabbit that came without its head, heart , and liver.

if a fella can not put a picture up it makes me think its a pack of lies

close to me there is a very large free range chicken farm and the chap there snares a lot of foxes he tells me that its a constant stream and never lets up,he,s been doing this for years , his place is in the middle of the Quorn Friday country so foxes are tollerated to some extent but not on his patch and it amazes me how many it draws in over a year. Anyway, well done on the snaring.

Can Anyone Remember The Old Man From 70,s Using Knocker Box ?
micky replied to foxtails's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
THE MAN WAS A PRAT , HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT FERRETING THOUGH I SUSPECT HE WAS USED TO HANDLING RABBITS, HE HAD PROBABLY DONE SOME TRAPPING AND CAUGHT PLENTY IN THE PUB.
