  1. Just happened to come upon this lad today. Been ages since I've seen one. Out in the middle of the day, beside a busy road. Myself and the daughter picked him up and brought him far side of the road, where there's an overgrown garden, and left it off there.
  2. Not at all. You'll moo up all those young gullible ones
  3. Strangely enough, there were no cats mentioned in the series. Maybe they aren't as many ferals there, as there is in Australia? Maybw they don't want to ruffle any feathers. I don't know. The stoats and rats are decimating everything on the ground. Nowhere to hide. Some effort being put in, to rid them, but I can't see them ever wiping them out.
  4. That's the second terrible joke in two days lad ?
  5. In the middle of watching this on YouTube at the moment. Very interesting series about attempts to save New Zealand's wildlife from extinction. I stuck it up here because I know you lads will find it interesting, and there is some aspects of trapping involved. Watch on a big screen if possible?
  6. Yea so many skills lost to history. I remember that old TV program, HANDS. What skillful people they had on there.
  7. Very good laddie! So many old tools that aren't used much in today's world.
  8. When it comes to cats. Their shear ability to catch and kill things, makes colour a none factor. If a white cat can kill as much stuff, as a black one, then a dominant colour doesn't come through. Well not on a big scale. Locally, yes, black may be the common colour in your gaf, but not necessarily in mine.
  9. Getting back to the trapping. Must be hard catch moles there Nicepix, with all those dykes about?
  10. One things for sure. You didn't catch her Beaver?
  11. Ken, get those traps out. We wanna see them. ?
  12. It really fascinates me the vast array of trap designs that are out there. Not only vintage traps, but modern ones too. Some very clever individuals, thinking up all sorts of idea's, and most work very well, when it comes to catching, and killing things. Here is a Canadian trap, that is very interesting to look at. I don't believe they were in production for very long, so are very much sought after these days. It's called the Gabry Bionic Trap, which is ratcheted. You can increase the power of the trap, by literally winding it up. I'm almost sure the inventer makes the Belisle conibear
  13. Welcome aboard. Your not alone. I'm a vegan at least one day a week.
  14. Yea I suggested that would be a good idea from there. Anyhow, here it is. Nice little video
  15. Such a god dalm pity, because that would have been one hell of a book. Twenty years time, there might not even be a Fenn trap. There might not even be a British designed or made spring trap any more. Where did it all go wrong?
  16. That's just proving everyone else's point ?
  17. Such a pity, nothing came of it fella. Sounds like there was a lot of work put into gathering and gaining information for the book.
  18. What I will say laddie is, if it wasn't worth your while going back for the camera, then it wasn't worth your while sticking it up here, without the pictures. You'll be eaten without salt at every opportunity, in this gaff.? I believe you by the way. Can see it as a very possible situation, but never seen it myself personally.
  19. Thanks for sticking up that link laddie. I will have a good look at it later when I have some free time, cheers!?
