thought i d write about the last week of hassle with my bitch and hope it might save you losing a few pups yourself.she had the pups last monday the 23rd.she showed the signs of labour as normal ie restlessness, nesting and panting.in about 6 hours she had given birth to 9 pups.after the birth she was panting a bit but nothing different to any bitches i ve seen before whelping.she had access to water all the way through and seemed to settle down nicely.i checked on her every hour throughout the day and she just looked knackered.the night after the birth about 3 in the morning i woke to my terr

very healthy bright looking pup mate. hope it goes to a good home.I don t think a lot of people realise the work involved in raising a litter PROPERLY. you ve obviously given them a lot of time and good grub.

A well bred bull cross makes the perfect first lurcher mate. they re devoted to you and will try their heart out to catch what they re running. Beware of the pricks selling shite though.I watched some at a show in the bull x class and all they wanted to do is fight one another. they re not the kind you ll want as a first dog.look for genuine lads out with the dogs day and night.they should be able to travel with other dogs and be able to run with hounds and safe with stock. i personally rate the 5/8 x 3/8 as a good all round dog depending on what your running.A good 3/4 cross will do the job b

cracking looking dogs. i often wonder if a lot of the bull crosses that are at the shows now are really these alaunt crosses. the owners state not but there are some big lumps of bull crosses about nowadays. a first cross used to throw 23 to 24 now they re huge things. smart looking dogs either way. just interested how they perform to a first cross bull greyhound are they still as game. pm s welcome

12-18 months really mate. the ones we had were out from a young age but only to get em used to the fences and stock etc. they started getting a bit more serious at about 10 mnths old but needed holding back a bit they were still pups although they looked well muscled and reasonably fit.hope it helps

i think you are wrong pal...i know several bull crosses that would pull the pants off most breeds there is good and bad in all crosses. i know you wrong, there are more bad than good and the good aint that good they aint all bad flint just a lot in the wrong hands

theres no big obsession with bull croosses. if you owned one you would realise why people are happy with them.the answer to your question is it depends on what your running and the individual dog.a night on the rabbits a good beddy cross would perform well and probably out turn the bull cross, this is presuming the bull is a half cross being 23".anything with teeth i would say the tables would be turned by the end of the night

i agree, similar to what i wrote in my post mate. its like terriers ,a terrier might put in 2 seasons and not put a foot wrong then all of a sudden just throw the towel in. i need to know that they ll do the work consistently even when the odds are against them and they have to dig deep to find the stamina and bottle required for regular work on the lamp.

i expect to catch between 15-20 rabbits a night, i dont think that 15-20 runs a night is realy testing a dog. correct.it depends what kind of work is meant in tried and tested. pre- ban if a lurcher went out 1 or 2 nights a week and had a run on a fox and caught a few then had a few doubled up some would say its a good fox dog WRONG.tried and tested to me is working your chosen quarry consistently throughout the year and the dog puts in the effort sometimes running sore or make that extra effort when some others might have jacked. when a dog has done this on a regular basis day and night i

every one has the opinion that all bulls are head the balls ie loopy.could nt be further from the truth.the right line is more important.i ve dug a pure bull bitch a few times and owned bull patterdales and they were steady as fxxk.a lot of it is the bringing up. if you re gonna chain it up and keep showing it hole enders when its young then more fool you.a lot of lads use em for drains and drawing etc WHY? they ll work as steady as any terrier as long as u let them come along at their own pace. And again select which bull line you use . bull lurchers or bull x terriers always seem to get a sl

Hes out of Top Honcho whose been top stud dog for a good while , was top grade / minor open class on some good tracks , eg . Coventry , Walthomstow then i think he ran on the independants for Dave Sleight , seems to have alot of early pace , some lads favour more of a staying type dog to use but i would think he would be ok to use . Go on Greyhound Data , dog search section and see what you think . cheers pal

A saluki/grey imho would throw better pups but if its size and early pace you want go for this dog thanks for the info. the bitch is a reverse 3/4 bull greyhound bitch. 22 and a half tts but can run for her cross.my old 5/8 x 3/8 is slowing down now so i want something similar. i would like something out of him ideally he s nearly 8 now but at 24 and a half i fear the pup s would come quite heavy.to be honest i did consider a saluki/grey but have never kept them and a bit stuck in my ways.
