  1. why is everyone knocking the lad asking a genuine question. right mate first pick the longest raciest pup in the litter and if its more up on the leg than the others then all the better. we bred a litter this way bred. putting a 24 inch half cross to a 18 inch pure bitch. the biggest pups made 23" and the smallest 21". 2 are being used as terriermans dogs and do it well. the bigger dog i ve seen run the light and he is quick for his cross.he catches various quarry with him and i ve seen it for myself. good luck with your choice. ps if they do make the grade and u run a bitch on and its done a
  2. fair play to ya nice healthy pups and not the best time of year with the cold but they look in cracking nick. good luck with the sale
  3. come on then how much are they :whistling: if thats wat yous are hinting on at that iam trying to sell them there 4 all ready tacken and they were only lined today so if all goes well and she take therell be none left apart from the 1 ill take then a sell it for a daft pound to a person whos gonna graft it. so think about things before u put snidy remarks on don t take it the wrong way but if the bitch has done 22 hrs in the ground then why would u sell the pup for quid. surely you would keep something back out of something working well
  4. to be honest mate there ll be a dog of most every cross doing the job that your wanting . best thing to do is get a pup from a dog and bitch that are taking the quarry your interested in. you could be on here days talking about lines of this that and the other and what cross is better than that cross etc . if both parents are doing the job well and have been for 5 or so seasons and you like the temperaments and size of the parents then try it.
  5. i ve kept bull greyhounds for a few years and can t fault their drive or stamina but the best all round dog i ve seen was a bedlington whippet greyhound bitch about 23 tts. it was a while ago now but she would do daytime hare , fox single handed and draw with the terriers. she would walk along the lane then dive in the hedge and get a pheasant. bigger quarry she was just as game on. we tried 2 good dogs over this bitch but the progency never amounted to anything.
  6. tickles me on here sometimes. if a lad puts a dog on for £200 then he s asking to much if he puts it on for £75 then its shit lol. maybe thats what he thinks its worth. it was nt that long ago that terriers were £100 and lurchers the same. now everybodys trying to make a fast buck asking silly prices.give the bloke a chance and if your interested have it on trial £75 aint even puppy money
  7. alright mate. we bred a litter this way bred over 2 years ago. dogs came 23 bitches 22 roughly. both parents were out a good line of bull and the offspring work well. spot on temperaments good with terriers etc. a couple have gone to terrier lads and they use them in the daytime. others went to lamping lads who are well pleased with them. obviously they aint gonna be the quickest of things but for what they want them for they re spot on. nigh on indestructable. atb

  14. It is not question of age. How many times do you use? Maybe an old dog hasn't seen as many game as the other young one. would you say it also depends on terrain, earths ect.plus all game are different as regards to how they react to a terrier to ground so which is the better dog the dog dug to many times but easy spots or one that does well when the odds are not in its favour quality first not the number of digs imo and its only a opinion so nobody throw the dummy out a proven dog should nt be worked in only easy spots. the dog should have worked consistenly and i mean being dug t
