    i never understood why they couldnt do pre-ban articles or cover hunting in germany america or australia... i'm sure there would be loads of contributers for articles like that?? i heard the antis burnt the offices down a couple of times but if they are gonna go down the bunny hugger road then maybe they should just quit!! i bought it this week for somethin to read whilst i was stuck on the side of the road.... i fell asleep lol

    just to point out, i remember an older thread on here about coyotes and the yanks were sayin that they expected theyre stag hounds to be takin fox around 7-8months old!!!

    this was a deer/grey x collie/grey bred to an ex track bitch.... i used to let her rag shot foxes, chase ferals and finally when the time came i slipped her on her own and she killed it really quickly even after she took a bad bite!! i used the same method with most of them and the last dog to fail was a well bred bull cross that i gave away in the end... she ended up ok doubled up but that was as good as she got!! IMO the breeding has to be there and even then its hit or miss...

    3/4 whippet 1/4 bull or other terrier type blood will do really well on the lamp!!

    i had a border cross, i thought she was good but what i hated about her was that she learned to pick her runs... do the beardie crosses have the same trait???

    300 quid to know exactly where you hounds or dogs are is not scandalous at all. When most folk who go ferreting spend about £150 to locate their ferret. good point!!

    times have changed a bit over the years... when i was younger if i lost a dog it would have turned up at somebodys house and i'd have got a phone call but now with all the shooting clubs that are dotted about the countryside if you lose your dog you run a higher risk of gettin it shot!!

    just noticed this post mate... i know its a diff cross but i bred a full staff bull to a whippet x grey and got trooper!! nice game bitch but too slow for most things... suppose it depends on what a person needs but heres a pic!

    they managed to catch the hard one that went thru the fence across the corner of the next field and thru the hedge and across a steep hill... 2 turns later they had him caught!! then about half an hour later and an extra mile walk they had one comin in like a greyhound and when i flicked the light on they were both standin lookin the wrong flippin way... i was too busy concentratin on what i was doin that i never noticed that they werent tuned in... by the time they twigged on to what was happenin it hit the hedge with the 2 in hot pursuit... the wee black one came back 5 mins later with

    so now you should call your self "NEWSCHOOL" LOL good one if its anythin like the winter we had 2 years ago i think a vehicle would be the safer option, if you can get to it at all then at least you have heat... i remember settin off on foot and fallin into a stream and walkin the 3 mile journey home in -15 temperatures.... i nearly didnt make it, it actually put me off lampin for a while after it!!

    i used to walk everywhere but now i use the 4x4 i've spoiled myself and cant be assed walkin!! need to get rid of the jeep

    what about the golly lines?? saw a thread on them a couple of years back and the pups seemed to always throw to golly in looks!!

    i think if you couple them with an infra red filter on your lamp it'l work as good as any!!! i've never tried it tho, but i've seen a fair few on youtube!!

    thats not good Did they take it out of the sleve when charging? you not supposed to leave charging when fully charged i read on it that it got an 'over charge' protection thingy on it.... at the end of the day, i'd love one!!

    I dont think theres hardly any original wolfhound blood in wolfhounds these days... I recollect reading an article by colonel david handcock that mentioned in passing that wolfhounds are a recreated breed using some deerhound and great dane blood yup... i read that too!! i think there was more emphasis on the great dane by the show folk!! edited to say>> i remember someone in armagh selling wolfhound x whippet/grey pups in the buy and sell paper.. a year later they started popping up in it again under the usual 12month old and 'unspoilt' shite ye usually read in there
