  1. Anyone here have any experiance hunting Marmots with dogs? I know where there are quite a bit of Yellow Bellied Marmot in the high country, they live in real large boulder/rock piles that are on the sides of mountains. Ive thought about entering my terrier there to see how she would do, considering there is not alot of opputunites to work terriers where i live. The dog will willingly enter rock piles, and has caught a feral cat in the rocks, and bolted and caught plenty of rabbits in the rocks. Would anyone have any advice as to working large rock piles? And anyone have any info on the
  2. My 7year old nephew with his first rabbit! Hes been ratting with me before, but he was very excited when the black dog pulled this rabbit out of a brushpile. That evening he learned all about skinning and preparing the rabbit for dinner. I couldnt be more proud!
  3. True, years ago in California they banned hunting Lions, and the governer just signed a bill banning running Bear and Bobcat with hounds. This will be the last hound season for Bears and Bobcats in California. Now from what i understand if a warden sees your dogs running any of those species they have the right to put your dog down on the spot.
  4. Do you hunt all that game with dogs? Australia sounds like a amazing place to hunt dogs!! Hope i can visit that part of the world someday..

  7. Some shots of the surrounding area. There were alot of red fox in the area also, but i didnt get a picture of them unfortunetly.

  10. Oh thanks, it looks alot bigger than 17lbs in the pic. But it being a lakeland makes more sense now that you mention it. Thanks for the info uphill.

  12. noricus, i dont have any answers to your post. But i am curious as to if you wouldnt mind sharing some pictures of the areas where you hunt marmots. I know of an area with lots of big yellow bellied marmots, and it seems awfully scary to enter a dog there, huge boulder piles on the sides of hills. I would love to see the area you hunt the marmots!
  13. Hey Stuntman, you got anymore "ol school" pictures? I sure do enjoy seeing dogs of old.
  14. here are some of the regulations for hutning within just one state of America, Land of the Free? Don't believe the hype. http://www.fgc.ca.go...mammalregs.aspx That is the absolute WORST state to pull up hunting regulations on. California is a JOKE!!
  15. Wish i could find a place like that!!
