  1. Not the best college out there for keepering. It's mainly classroom based i understand, gien that most keepering involves working outdoors i can't see how it can prepare you for the job
  2. One of these i expect http://tywkiwdbi.blogspot.com/2009/05/para...aterpillar.html
  3. Nope they will be yellow plums or greengages You wouldn't eat a sloeand say it was nice.... trust me!
  4. £150 a window feckin hell they saw you coming!!!! £150 -£250 for the rear of the car is a realistic price. The fronts cannot be tinted at all......well unless you are the local drug dealer....they can get away with anything. You can expect the pod to pull you over for the fronts being tinted DIY is fairly easy except the large window in the boot. Plenty of soapy water, patience, a decent squeegee and a stanley blade is all you need. Easier if you take the windows out though.
  5. They aint ready yet Need a few weeks yet to be ready.
  6. You might wanna rethink that.....the poison may NOT be used where RED squirrels are present In that instance the only methods that can be used are shooting and live catch traps
  7. Get a pic of the area it was living in. That will let you know how many may be there. Does she feed the birds? If so then thats the problem most likely, there may be a drainage issue under the patio if there are a lot of rats there though.
  8. Look after your dog and it will look after you! Leaving it wet will only lead to problems later in life like arthrititis. I towel dry my dog after he has been out and got wet, especially after a days work.
  9. The best you could hope for would be a few ex layers and feed like hell to keep em somewhere handy. They will be out of your pen and long gone by the end of the season otherwise. I would wait till next year and do it properly if it was me, given that many shoots will be starting in the next few weeks anyway.
  10. Get yourself onto their beating teams and make contacts that way. Most keepers will want to know you before they let you out into their patch. I would imagine it will be quite difficult for you to work as a keeper as you are married and i guess not able to move/travel too far to do the work??? The beating would be the best bet then you can get into helping etc from there.
  11. Do you have land that is passed for centerfire rifles?? It will cost you to get another rifle put on now, i cant remember how much but it's a fair bit. They will need to inspect the land etc before you are granted it.
  12. Watch the dog whisperer as has been suggested, he is really good Your dog needs to be socialised and corrected, not beaten or zapped with an electric collar. A whippy piece of hazel is ok to catch it across the arse as it runs off but you need to learn to spot when your dog is gonna start! Sounds like your dog is insecure and you are scared/unsure of how to correct it. The dog knows you are worried everytime you go out and is protecting you by attacking the other dogs. You need to go back to basic training and socialising the dog. YOU MUST BE DOMINANT.... YOU MUST BE PACK LEADER cos
  13. Im sure a local pesty will be along soon. i wouldn't bother with it at this time of year, they will be dying off as the colder nights start killing them off. It's been there since may so a few more weeks won't do any harm.
  14. Great guns, mine has died after a cartridge peeled the multichoke inside out last season Shame i bought a replacement as it was a great gun Good luck with the sale.
  15. Try this chap then bud http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=121993
  16. Why not buy snares ready made 30p-40p each! http://www.trapworks.co.uk/snares.htm?gcli...CFcRq4wodaHx-UQ
  17. If you can find them there are double lusox IE: 2 different sized blades on a wire trace and my go i've had a few pike on those when struggling to catch on others. Mepps have a wight that clips onto the front of the spinner that looks like a small fish head, thats what you need on those lusox if you need a bit of weight to cast or get deep. Have a listen to the noise different lures ake through the water http://www.mepps.com/products/info/sounds/
  18. yes and yes. make some elderberry vodka/gin etc
  19. Try mepps lusox spinners they are the dogs danglies if all else fails. I'm on about 40 pike from the local canal, mepps pulls a lot out, have recently got into using jerkbaits on short rod with a multiplier, brilliant way to get em!!!
  20. punctuation marks will make future rants easier to read The vet was unproffessional in his behaviour, i would report him for that alone. He has made valid points though, these days it pays to have everything as legal as poss to prevent the anti brigade causing you probs with the likes of the arsepca. The vet i use is excellent, knows my terrier works and is happy with him in all ways. I do get my dog jabbed as it needs it for kennelling when i go away. I would have it's jabs done as a matter of course as i wouldn't want my dog to get ill from a preventable set of diseases. If you jab
  21. Not at all, they eat mainly nuts, acorns and insects. They will take nestlings and small mammals but nothing like a pair of maggies!! Leave em alone i say, being a keper isn't about killing everything just because they did in the old days where if it had a hookbeak talons or sharp teeth it died! Jays do very little damage compared to other corvids.
  22. I would keep it personally, not worth the price you would get at a dealer. Private sale might get more though.
  23. It's well worth it if the tup is a similar size to the dog, it would deffo stop it doing it again. Try having a word with a friendly farmer
  24. Yep done it with rabbits, rats and pigeons before now, seen it happen a few times with deer too.
