  1. i would get rid of the shitzus and bring the lurcher in the house Would love to but you know what some ladys are like with their cute little pets Thanks for all the responses , just what i needed to hear
  2. Do you have any dogs as house pets as well as keep a worker in your kennels ? Me and the girlfriend have 3 dogs in the house , 2 cross shitzu things and my bull terrier , thinking of putting a kennel and run in the garden for another lurcher now i have a garden again . Dog will obviously have the run of the garden during the day , but will be kennelled at night outside while the others sleep inside , does anyone else do this and do they have any problems i.e jealousy between kennelled workers and house dogs ?
  3. Any one lost a ferret ? Was found in old sommerby about 5 miles from Grantham , from it's condition its been living wild for a while i think . Have so far removed 12 ticks and its eaten 3 rabbit legs since last night
  4. Was obviously just a submission wrestling bout and has been blown way out of proportion by the media ! Only thing I didnt like was the attempted leg locks which are far too dangerous at that age !!!
  5. After a couple of bantam hens in Lincolnshire area will pay a good price and will collect asap Thanks CW
  6. Cant see it being a problem mate , ferrets have that instinct to hunt and explore hardwired into them ! If you can get a more experienced ferret for them to ferret alongside with then i think you will be fine , plus if they have been spayed you won't have to worry aboy=ut jill jabs and what have you . If you cant find someone who will accompany you , then just work some small burys and just let them do what comes naturally ! Let us know what you decide and how it goes
  7. Theres at least two in your house judging by that pic of your misses !
  8. Thats my wife in the pic with the 2 ferrets Fork inell she has a five o clock shadow
  9. Thank you for all the comments and advice lads , am going to have a good long think as to what calibre rimfire and centrefire i will put on my application . I will be walking the land and stalking up the rabbits and foxes i would say at a max range of 60-70 yards so maybe the 22lr for my rimfire slot would be a better option ?? I think i will maybe try and find someone to tag along with and explain a little bit more about possible calibres and actually show me what they can do !
  10. I have shot a rimfire before but was a while ago , the guy who used to shoot the land would i presume have had a open ticket so not sure on wether that means he would have had to have had the land passed or he just made his own decision . I wouldn't mind if i have a mentioning clause on my F.AC can't see that being a hindarance and i was going to see if i could tag along with some one who could just give me a few pointers . Just want to get this in motion as fast as possible as the coneys and hares are proving a problem and i'm limited to what i can do with just ferrets and a shotgun !
  11. Hi all the farmer who's permission i ferret on has agreed to me getting my .f.a.c on his land !!! He's asked if i will take care of all the pest control especially the foxes and hares which are proving a problem , could any one offer any advice on what rifles i should ask for on my ticket ?? I would like one dedicated foxing rifle and one for the hares and rabbits , also would it be worth having fac air ? Thanks for reading Cw

  16. I can put you in touch with a rehoming centre if you like , the lady who runs it makes very thorough checks into the owners background and home environment and also does visits through the year to make sure the dog is settling in . PM me if this is any help
  17. You want either fillet or sirloin for steak , hung 3 weeks and with a good amount of marbling running through the middle . Take steak out 30 minutes before frying , place in proper steak pan , fry 2 minutes each side turning only once rest on warm plate ! Enjoy

  23. I feed dry food if it's really hot weather and there is loads of flies . Cooler days and evenings they get rabbit heads ( my hob loves them !!! ) oily fish , turkey eggs , pheasant , pigeon and any thing else i shoot . Any fresh meat i give them is only gutted and served with their jacket on .
  24. I didn't realise fox's disregarded the highway code during the summer , wow they really are cunning Sorry to hear about the dog , never good when you lose one to a accident
