  1. im not knocking 3/4 bred dogs just first one ive had and its always puffing and blowing even when just walking not saying she will jack or anything she might puff and blow all night and still keep catching, ive not really put her to the test yet its only her first season best she has had is 9 bunnies one night, and 4 shot and retrieved long ears another they were her best 2 nights. my mate has a 3/4 bred collie grey it old now but in its day before the ban it had 13 long ears in 1 night single handed so some must be good.i think that with having so much greyhound in some will throw more to the

  6. saluki x whippet, greyhound for me i have this cross only the bull greyhound used was only 1/4 and she is very light built, she will have a go at most things but if she had a bit more bull she would be better on the big stuff.she does well as she is and always gives 100%
  7. dont no about him being a promiser because he's never promised me anything and i take people as i find them not what others tell me there like, and he's never said his dog does'nt yap a bit he published it for all to read in edrd does'nt make it a bad dog, infact in cover you no your dogs on and as for saying there average i take it you've seen it work because mine has never embarressed me but he's embarressed others thats why i put the post up to see how the others have turned out not peoples oppinions on the man or his dogs, perhaps the lad you know has let his dog get away with being boiste

  10. just wanting to find out if there still dogs being bred off these lines, was my dads dog nell and from pics ive seen it was a decent allround worker taking all game regular and taking decent bags of bunnies and hare.i know its a long shot getting any info on this but if anyone knows anything would help to me it looks something like collie greyhound saluki greyhound.the pup went to maryport it was 23" heres some pics but i took a pic out of a old album on the phone so not best quality but all i got
  11. i will keep on trying her but as i say she is hard work and very stubborn a great little dog but trying to get her to do something she dont want to do is like trying to get blood out of a stone.she will retrieve within reason mind, just would be better if she came right to hand.im just off out with the pup for a bit of obbediance training jump and retrieve try and tire him out by learning him to listen

  13. she is a saluki whippet greyhound with a 1/8bull it was a shame as she brought them right to me before hand. i have tried to get her retrieving in the garden but she shows no interest and just puts her tail under her legs and looks scared and goes to the shed door she is a funny nervous dog sometimes
  14. i have seen ginny run and she was probly best dog ive seen!on the ground we lamped it wasnt full of bunnies but but it was getting more and more ahead of my dog and if we had a good haul to go at would of probly easy doubled what my dog would have got, it all boils down to how many bunnies are around how fit your dog is and retrieve helps alot.
  15. ni ni is mental he has been singing them pups praises today what they are not going to do, he said you should have got one youngen haha
  16. thankyou wild rover that will help as you say it will have learned most things for the first real night on the lamp.do you think the retrieve training will work on my older bitch 2 year she was a consistant retriever until my mates dog slipped its lead and took her catch off her and she has never retrieved from that day wasted my dog it did thats why i want to do this one right and it will only be going on its own

  18. walk cant beat walking it dont cost anything
  19. im sure there is a lot of dogs that get left all day as people have to go to work but i think easies option is a kennel and run then it can do its buisiness as it pleases and also wont chew your house to pieces
  20. my dog wont run down the beam that far it will walk until it knows its in distance of catching the bunny, some people dont like this but in my eyes it saves using up energy for no reason if the bunny was to get away.it will run other game (shot&retrieved) from long distances though

  22. i was thinking of breeding my saluki whippet grey x 1/4 bull 3/4 grey to my mates 3/4 grey 1/4 collie as he wants a pup the pups would be 5/8grey 1/8col 1/8saluki 1/16bull 1/16whip both dogs are decent allround workers
