  7. very good ive not had mine anywhere near land full of bunnies or hare yet ive hardly got any where i live.she aint got the retrieving right back to hand yet but somewhere near i never had time to teach her as a pup my fault, from what ive seen of my bitch it dont seem such a bad cross at first i was bothered about her stamina but she is ok. rabbit and hare single handed and she has been on all other quarry with another dog she dont shy off from stuff that bites back just gets stuck in
  8. my bitch is 14 month just turned she is saluki x greyhound put back to greyhound best shes had is 8 bunnies and 4 long ears in 1 night she often gets close to this when i take her she is coming on fine in my eyes.where did you get your bitch from?
  9. As a pure whippet owner i would second that but personally would favour a touch of collie in there too. If the fields are small a whippet would be fine but if there are any bigger fields i would go for a slightly bigger dog with more stamina 22-24"? collie x greyhound 50/50
  10. i agree with you ginny spinner looks like the same breeding as lucy just heavier because its a dog
  11. yes i use a amber filter its bang on mate (the red one is only good for rats) its my preference good allround filter and you dont get seen using it thanks mate.was going 2 get a red one. but want 2 here from the otheir lads i have a red and a amber filter for my striker i use neither of them they do my head in taking on and off when the dogs running it quarry.and just usually put down my jacket after a few runs which is annoying aswell.amber has a better beam range to me i think they are only any good for shooting.u can get as close with normal clear beam Hello mate i was having p

  14. thats what i thought surely that way lurcher to lurcher off proven working parents would be better than to straight greyhound.where did all this % in lurchers come from anyway some of the best allround working lurchers come from lines that have been bred for years and years and how can u tell whats in them?does it really matter so long as they do their job
  15. her breeding is sire 1/2saluki 1/4whippet 1/4greyhound dam full working greyhound she is 14month and coming on a treat just need the retrieving sorted
  16. GOT A RED FILTER BUT DONT USE IT MAKES CATCHING TO EASY I LIKE A GOOD RUN FOR THE DOG MAKES IT MORE EXCITING AND AT THE END OF THE DAY IF IT GETS AWAY ITS ALWAYS THERE ANOTHER NIGHT WE DONT HAVE TO CATCH EVERYTHING LESS IT WOULD BE BORING!
  17. my dog caught half of these my mates dog caught the others.was a good night they were all sitting very well!
  18. i have to go right up his garden and look for her usually find her hiding behind his car shaking so she must know shes done wrong

  20. she was fine last year with the fireworks she is head srong and has probably got it in her head she hasent got to do as she is told.how is the best way to treat her when i go and get her?if i lose my temper and shout she definatly wont come back or do i praise her and then she might think its ok to wander off and ignor me
  21. hope so because shes a cracking little bitch.bit too clever at times though this might be the problem it maybe getting too cold for her
  22. no she has only done it the last few days and she hasnt been in season for a few weeks now and no dog has got at her maybe that stupid stuborn saluki in her
  23. wasnt a bad turn out considering the weather hope to get a better bag next time we go.ill make sure i bring my mars bar haha
  24. ive just started letting my 2 bitches run out of the back of the car now its getting cooler. i know a small back road that never gets used and its not too far away from home so i go up and drive 3 mile at 10 to 15mph letting the dogs follow on behind.i also lamp them alternate when ever i get a decent night and also take them for walks
