  1. Had a six foot dig today. One of the ferrets worked its collar off, bloody hard graft. It's amazing had difficult they are to retrieve when it's not attached to a ferret; must make sure it is better attached next time. This has happened to me before and I'm sure it was the same ferret. At £71 each you've got to get them back.
  2. One seller on flee bay has rayovacs priced up at £999.99 I challenged them on the price and this is there reply :Thanks for your message Unfortunately we have experienced a quality issue with this item. We are working to rectify this, and when we have stock that we believe is fit for purpose, we will revert the item to its original selling price Kind Regards Kayleigh Customer Service Manager - hobbyhomeuk
  3. I just enjoy the the sport and watching the jills work, and the harder they are to get the more you appreciate the hunt, sometimes as you all know they can be bloody hard to get but I still enjoy the day or few hours out,I will always go out whether no rabbits one rabbit or a dozen it is a great country sport, and it keeps the farmer happy as well.
  4. Just to add, I could not fault Deben's customer service it was first class, reply's were fast helpful and polite.
  5. Deben contacted me today saying that the collar was not repairable and was probably the magnetic reed inside that packed in, but they are not totally sure, he also said that a sharp knock could possibly cause this to happen again he was not totally sure, the collars themselves are sealed units so they cannot be taken apart for repair,The collar concerned was about two years old so they offered me a replacement with a 30% discount so I too k them up on there offer.
  6. I always find when shooting crows that a dead rabbit opened up and one crow decoy brings them in range to start with, then some of the dead crows I put back out, though to many decoys out do at times make them wary, also a well camouflaged hide and that includes the shooter is very important, always were a face veil and keep very still while they get in range,if they are turning away at distance they are seeing something they consider not right so you will need to change tactics.
  7. Thank you vin,I will contact them.
  8. Color packed up today gone through all the checks batteries ect,are these colors repairable or not,as they are very expensive to replace thank-you.
  9. I normally use 4oz nets so decided to try a 6oz,got one second hand the chap told me that he got it from Bridport Nets it had only been used ones,so I tried it out today with ferrets encircling a large warren,it held every rabbit that hit,the net it self is well made plenty of bagging 100% I was told good strong poles with grommets all in all a very good net. I also found 6oz although heaver is easier to handle less debris and easier to remove entangled rabbits. So now I have 4oz for clean sites and 6oz for more contaminated sites.
  10. Just started to use 24g 71/2 steel clay cartridges 37 pigeons today for 51 shots through semi surprised that they cycled OK,cheap I think they were £36 for 250,they seem to work fine on birds up to medium range, and also I can pass them on to people with hawks.Forgot mention I use all steel with 1/2 choke.
  11. Tried to find the actual interview with the rspca were he said shooting pigeons and doves in your back yard with an air rifle was illegal, but no luck cannot find it online.
  12. My be they should have a word with the cat.
  13. On the main news today was the RSPCA reporting an increase in cats being shot with air rifles, they also announced that it is illegal to shoot a pigeon or a dove and to report too them any one seen doing so either in there back garden or in a public place, knowing all about the general licences that all us responsible shooters adhere to,I thought his statement was very irresponsible as to inform the not so informed general public that all shooting of such species (excluding the cat) is totally illegal and the any persons seen doing so are to classed as criminals.I think this sort of reporting i

  20. Some one will know who these thieving gits are, just keep asking around, let them know you are after them, someone will spill the beans eventually.Private Pm if you suspect anyone.
  21. I agree 4oz does hold quarry better, but also picks up rubbish more often,It also cuts down on weight,I personally prefer to use the 4oz but 6oz does have its place,I have even used 10 oz at times in and around brambles, plenty of bagging is the key to preventing bounce offs.
  22. My preference .22 for fur any day holds its energy at distance, hits harder at range, better in winding conditions, stops them bunny's dead in there tracks,I tend to get almost always no kicking and jumping around with head shots, learn your mill dots and its a great sub 12ftlbs caliber.
  23. I use 5s or hull steel 4s through half choke, larger shot sizes tend to travel better through meat and and you end up with less shot left in quarry.
  24. Great gun and very accurate constantly taking head shots out to 60 mtrs on a calm day.pellet count around 40 on one fill, thats not been a problem for me when out bunny bashing,.22 don't half hit them hard at range.
  25. Only seen one mixy rabbit this year, harvest shoot was down a bit on last years total, still finding does in young.
