  1. All 4 pm's replied to and my phone number sent.
  2. I have a mk3 with 6 collars, to be honest last season I didn't use them much but have used them every time I have been out this season up to now. The ferrets do get caught in the purse nets more often when wearing a collar and this can be a pain in the arse but knowing where the ferret is to dig outways the ferret getting tangled in my opinion and being able to retrieve killed rabbits. Saying that there lots of warrens we simply couldn't dig, under stone Walls ect, but it's still nice to know when your ferret has gone missing for an hour what depth it is and it's not sneaked into thick cover a
  3. I have put this in the ferreting section rather than the clothing section because only people that go ferreting will undersand what it's like setting nets whilst wearing gloves. Can anyone recommend a pair of waterproof, warm, gloves that are tight fitting that you can actually wear whilst out ferreting. I mean be able to set purse nets with them on and untangle a rabbit from a longnet. I have tried fingerless ones that fold back and took the velcro off so it doesn't get caught on the nets, but the bits that fold over get in the way. Completely fingerless ones aren't warm enough when the snow
  4. T4 mod for sale, half unf thread, has been on a hornet and only had less than 100 shots through it. On ticket, will send to rfd £100
  5. You can't use any gen 1,2 or 3 near lights, only digital can be used near lights. The dsa comes with different size ring inserts to fit any scope, but I have just built up the end of the scope with tape so the dsa grips with no insert, this was to overcome the knob on the eye bell on the scope and saves messing about with inserts.
  6. Last season we used 5 ferrets most times out and rotate them throughout the day, just got another hob to add to the team this year and will be getting a few smaller warrens to do in the next couple of months. Some of the bigger warrens we do we could sometimes do with another couple of ferrets but I like to work all of my ferrets one day a week through the season and feel 6 is enough to carry on top of the other stuff we have to carry around.
  7. £1 gutted, ferret caught or head shot from a butcher. 20p if shot with a shotgun from a game dealer.
  8. The Yukon ranger gas a very good built in ir laser good upto well over 100 yards.
  9. I got the Yukon ranger for using near street lights where tubed night vision can't be used due to the lights, digital can be used anywhere. I think the nikko scope you have will work fine, maybe a bit too much mag 6x will be ok but 3 or 4x would be better for scanning the fields, it would give you a better field of view, you can then turn up the mag when you take the shot. I scan the fields on 4x mag, spot a rabbit, get closer, get it in my sights again on 4x mag and then turn the mag upto 10-12x, this works well with the challenger so you don't need a spotter.
  10. I know it can but I still can't get away with it. It's ok when you are around street lights and built up areas but when used in the pitch black it makes my eyes go funny and makes me dizzy when I look away from it. It's a excellent picture though for the money, I think some people just can't get away with digital and I am one of them. I will do a swap for your envis if you want !!!
  11. I would get the laser if you want to spot rabbits at any distance, it's alot better. I would try and get to one of the nv meets if I was you to have a look through some different set ups. Some people don't like add ons and prefer a dedicated set up instead. With an add on you don't need a dedicated gun as you can use your day set up but the shooting position is compramised due to the add on being longer. Some people use a stock extension with the add on, I just have my day scope slightly more forward that I usually would. A day scope with a long eye relief helps as well for the shooting positi
  12. I use a pulsar challenger as a add on with a mtc mamba lite scope and it works spot on, you can spot eye shine 150 yards+ and shoot rabbits 100 yards with a n1000 ir laser. Apparently the challenger is better than the exelon as an add on but if you are using it as a spotter the exelon is the better of the two. I don't know, but I would presume the camcorder would be heavier and in black and White. I have a Yukon ranger and just can't get away with digital, it's too bright and makes my eyes go funny when used on a really dark night. There are some night vision meets coming up next month where
  13. They are forecasting a heat wave next week, do you think we might get an influx of new born rabbits just as the season gets started properly?
  14. They also told me they aren't repairable and can only be replaced as they are a sealed unit.
  15. I had same problem last week when I changed the batteries in mine (see thread), they bleeped a few times and then wouldn't work. I spoke to Paul in customer service at deben and he said the magnet fob is more powerful than recovered magnet and can sometimes get a better conection in collar. This didn't sort mine out bit might be worth a try!!
  16. I used frontline spray last time, if you are using spot on you should use the one for cats, not dogs, thats what the vet told me anyway and my sister(she works there as a vet nurse).
  17. I changed the batteries in my 4 collars this week ready for the season to find 2 of them weren't working. I contacted deben directly on tuesday and and explained the problem, to be told not to wory if they were under 12 months old I would be covered under warrenty. I have always used the reciever magnet to turn them on and off and was told by them to try the fob magnet instead as this has a more powerfull magnet and may sort the problem. Wednesday morning i had a new fob type magnet recorded delivery through the post free of charge. I tried this on wednesday night and it did not solve the
  18. All my ferrets seem to go for the eyes first as well, it must be instinct bred into them.
  19. Can you pm me your phone number mate and I will give you a ring tomorrow. Cheers
  20. Hi mate, I live near Stockton but have a ferreting job on in Durham (dh7 postcode) on Saturday, where are you based. I am looking for a smallish hob if you have any and you aren't too far away.
  21. Don't use those zinc air batteries they are for hearing aids, they will leak and knack your locator.
  22. The batteries are correct and testing 1.5 volts. I am going to ring deben tomorrow if I can't get them to work after cleaning the connections. I have heard the aftersales is sh1t with deben, will let you know how I get on!
  23. I am going to take them into work in the morning and give the connections a clean with isoprphonal, does anyone know if they can be repaired?
