  1. We have hopefully just about got the last few rabbits left on the ground I have being using them on, but when it snowed a few weeks ago we could see the footprints going upto the snares on the fence and stopping at the snare and going back down the run and going through another gap in the fence, and this was with weathered snares. It just goes to show some rabbits have wised up to them. We have now had 49 rabbits off the border of the cematry since boxing day and the last 2 weeks is the first time the flowers on my grans grave have not been eaten within the first 48 hours, they haven't been t
  2. Would just leaving them outside for a week or two be a good idea before setting them up
  3. I thought there might be a way to speed up nature, like speed up the time it takes them to tarnish. They look really bright down the fence line compared to the older ones that are set next to them.
  4. Cheers mate, pm'd him yesterday morning, now waiting in hope for a reply.
  5. Just bought some shiny new brass rabbit snares, they stand out like a sore thumb, has anyone any tips for dulling the colour down a bit.
  6. I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as to the best Place to get half a dozen Fox snares. I don't want cheap crapy ones that won't work, I want to buy once without being overcharged for anything with gimmicks. I want some simple snares that work. Thanks
  7. A water bath for cooling in summer and drinking in winter. A ball pool to play in. Lots of tubes. A hammock.
  8. We were out yesterday and bolted baby rabbits out of 4 different warrens in north Yorkshire, has anyone else had this yet. We have been getting pregnant ones for a few weeks but these are the first young ones we have seen and to see as many as we did I was shocked. I know you normally get an odd litter all year round these days but to see the amount we did yesterday I was supprised. It could mean lots of rabbits around this year though, although an end to the season for alot of you, we ferret all year round anyway but it makes life difficult when there are lots of young around. It just l

  12. My wife has just come home from shopping and said on the front page of the gazette there is a story about someone going mad with a shotgun in peterlee and shooting 4 people. Has anyone heard anything about it or has she got it wrong?

  15. I have a 30 inch Lanber o/u multichoke with full set of chokes that takes 3 inch cartridges. I am looking to swap it for a side by side preferably with 3 inch chambers but will consider any side by side. I value mine at £300 so will do a swap or accept/give cash either way to make up the difference. PM me with what you have. I am from Middlesbrough but will travel or meet half way if need be.
  16. I am after a pro hunter or similar jacket. Must be euro size 58 if it's harkila or to fit 48" chest. Pm me if you have anything, doesn't have to be waterproof as long as its warm and breathable.
  17. Last season we hardly ever used finders but started using them this summer and have never looked back. We used upto 7 ferrets at the same time last year on huge 500+ hole warrens and although we had a few kills down the holes that we couldn't retrieve we still got good numbers. The thing that was frustrating was not knowing where all the ferrets were when they had a kill and waiting half an hour or an hour for them to come back out. While you are waiting for them you can't stop thinking if they have sneaked out when you weren't looking and have wondered off, or if they have got stuck behind a
  18. Thought it must be some sort of sensor. There looks to be 2 wires going into a block and only 1 wire coming out of the block to the bit that goes on the filter, should there be 2 wires going to the bit that goes on the filter? If this is wired wrong will of just be the water sensor that won't work? Is the water sensor just connected to a light on the dash?
  19. Just changed the fuel filter on my fourtrak and found two wires going to the bit that screws onto the bottom of it, does anyone know what these are for?
  20. I have the investarm 20g over and under, it is quiet, but does take some getting used to, it's like holding a drainpipe with a stock on the end, supprisingly light and well balanced though. This was the only over and under Hushpower I could find at the time. My uncle also has a hushpower beretta over and under in 12g, so there are a few limited editions and custom guns around if you look. All hushpower guns are even quieter when used with the hushpower cartridges as well.
  21. Would love to mate, where are you, I am on my iPhone and can't see anyones location? When you say 'get back' does that mean you are away for a while? Thanks again
  22. I will do mate when I am at work tommorrow, thanks.

  24. I have decided to have a go at snaring some rabbits. I have never really done this before and realise there is a art/skill to setting snares. First of all can anyone recommend somewhere to buy some snares from, I would like to buy once and get good quality ones that will do the job. I will make my own eventually, but wanted about 20 to get me started. Next question, is there any good links on the tinterweb with a step by step guide to setting a snare properly and advice and tips on where and how to set them. Or is there a DVD for beginners available with tips and advice, even bette
