I dunno what age as i was born and raised in a small country village where 95% of the men were miners and at least halve of these men had whippets,lurcher, ferrets and terriers,also most of them liked their fishing too,i think being stuck down a hole in the ground made them appreciate the countryside and gave them a love of being out in the open spaces and fresh air,so i was always surrounded by hunting folk with dogs and ferrets ect including my uncles and grandfather.I can tell you there was some characters about in they days,some of the stories i used to sit and listen to would have made a

Often looks a lot worse than it is sounder,kept clean and given a bit of time i think looking at your pics it will heal well mate i dunno what your spraying on it but i can recomend cut-heal as i heals from the inside........its good stuff.

Had the same prob about 10 years ago m/c losing all my ferrets....... four went down showing similar symptoms as your own although thinking back i dont remember any fleas,just like yourself mate i was puzzled by this and shattered aswell as id had the same line of ferrets for 15 years before. Na na frank get them out with you bud, they beasts in the field will keep your dogs fit and this will leave you in peace to get some ferretin done Aye i know what you mean frank they can be a feckin nightmare at times,ive had a few hairy expierences out with the lamp with them thinking i could nip into one end of a field for a quick shine and out again only to be overtaking the dog making way back to the fence

First off,well done madcow for gettin your team started,stick with it and keeping getting them out and it will all come good for you and your stinkers soon As for locators wether it be ferretin or terriers, my opinion is there the best thing to be invented for ferreter or terrier man since the ferret or the terrier,but ditch has a point about them being used seconds after the ferret has been put to ground maybe replacing fieldcraft ect of old, now a days some just plan to dig a large number of their bunnies but used as a last resort when the light is fading or with a ferret which is stuc

Ive fed feral doo's many times to ferrets with no ill effect but most of these were from farm clearences not urban areas,i think the enviroment where the ferals were being took from should be the deciding factor before being fed

I had the same problem with a huskey type which was let to run loose about a wood near the village were i walk my dogs.on two occasions this deranged mut had a go at my pup of 4-5 months at the time which was on the leash,i spoke to owner civley about his dog and explained im getting a bit pissed off with it and maybe it would be better if he had some control over it if couldn,t be trusted with other dogs,but he rufused to take responsability for it saying it was only wanting to play Now on both previous occasions this dog was out of site of its owner as it always bounded about a half a

jesus lads !! im thinking we've enough enemies looking from the outside looking in without being at each others throat on here giving the feckers any satasfaction watching this !!! Secured two new hill farms this year which both neighbour each other and both heavy with rabbits,but on returning from one on tuesday evening i popped into have a chat with the sheperd on the other of the two to arrange a day,s ferreting with my dog only to be told he has seen a few myxi going about in the last week or so .................fecking gutted But as yet ive seen no others on any other permision i have,so ive got my fingers,legs and toes crossed it stay's this way

Ive had bedlington types for a while now and like yourelf ive found them to be wee fiery pups aswell when it comes to anything that doesnt suit them doing or being chalanged ect,but carry-on as your doing mate and let it know its place in the pecking order and by this i mean below youself and everybody else in the family and it should turn out ok as it matures.Every beddie type pup ive had has lost this as they matured,and every one of them became good natured dogs around people including children and other dogs aswell. The way i see it with the whippets is, if they are from the right stuff..........well yes they have some attributes to offer whether in a lurchers make-up or run as pure whippet,but a lot could be said for most breeds as we all know there is some shite being bred from in all breeds whether it be bull,saluki,collie ect im no expert in whippets but ive seen a few decent ones run and ive seen some wee shivering wenches i wouldnt give kennel room

Some practice vets are ok mate but if i was you get yourselve down to your nearest greyhound track and ask about for the vet or fella in the know about foot injuries in running dogs,as i said some vets are ok but some are useless when it comes to toe and feet injuries

I think whippet in the breeding would keep the size down for a smaller,lighter and some would say nippier lurcher out the blocks suiting some people for a rabbiting dog,as for myself.........well if i wanted a whippet type i would prob just get a decent bred whippet,but im sure other folk might have a different angle on it
