I want to learn how to use sticks properly. I struggle to headshoot the bunnies beyond yards. I wouldn't even consider a fox at 200. How the hell to you get steady enough? Disgruntled sticks user. Oh and I second the B&Q option. I have just recently moved off using them because I got a tripod at a really good price and because I am so tall the sticks were a bugger to fit in the car.

where abouts are you in N bucks?

I will jump in here with my bit. However please be assured I am no expert, I have had the good fortune to be able to stoot a number of rifles as my mate is an RFD. Most modern rifles are accurate out of the box. (well the ones i have shot were) I have shot mainly tika T3s and 595s I think it is called? X-bolts, CZ and a remmington or two. To mind they were much of a muchness. X-bolt, lovely rifle. I didn't like the trigger. It was too heavy for me at 3 lbs and I couldn't get it down below that. So if you like the look and feel make sure you are ok with the trigger. I replaced it with a LH Ti

I'm liking your thinking I have been considering getting some filters on the truck for driving around the field but was worried about burning the lens. That is a much better idea. a cheap set of spots. where did you pick the filter up from. the bay of evil?

Horses for courses. I had 2. Ok for rimmies and air rifles. anything above I would spend some money and get some thing of a better quality. But it depends on how much money you have and how much hunting you do. I am out at least once a week for many hours so can be in all weather conditions. The problem with the lower end scopes is that you will find you will not be able to take a shot in certain conditions ie last light. Buy once buy right. I wouldn't put one on my 223. But this is nothing specific to MTC. Any of the lower end scopes I wouldn't use. I would rather buy a good quality sec

In short or as far as I am aware NO..... And I have looked. thats why I bought an archer. But somebody is now bound to come along and prove me wrong.

Spend some time on fitting the DSA to the scope. Once it is fitted correctly the unit should clip on and off easily. If it is stiff then you may need a bit of insulation under the spacers to get the width correct. It takes a bit of time but well worth the effort. An excellent unit albeit heavy. You will need a butt extender. The one that Starlight give you I found is not long enough so you need to fit a bit of wood inside it to space it out some more. Distances are down to the scope. But I can see bunny eyeshine out to 100 yards with no scope attached and a lot more on the scope.

I had a torch and still couldn't find 2 of the darn things. Grrr

Oh Gawd I have just had this conversation on another forum. OK. I'll keep it short. X-bolt, lovely rifle with a shite trigger. (My Opinion) That is if you like a nice light trigger. I like a nice light trigger set at 1.9 lbs pull. The X-bolt will be lucky to get below 3lbs unless you want to start playing with springs. It is an American rifle designed for the American "sue" culture. You squeeze and squeeze and eventually it goes off. Try and fire one before you buy. If you can live with it then you will have a nice rifle. T3. All sound nice rifle with a better trigger. I found both w

or is it a 520?

http://www.deben.com...r-pro-1000.html She is talking out her arse. If anybody local wants to see mine happy to show it. . I found it works really well. And if you want one I can point you to your local dealer who got me mine.

Yup, bloody good glass at a fraction of the cost of the top end stuff. Good enough for my 243 as well.I'm sure that Zeiss and Swaro etc are better but not enough for me to spend the money out. Maybe if i was shooting loads every week i could justify it but no not with the amount I do. I won't be changing it anytime soon.

LT handed shoot RT handed semi ?.
Gloop replied to PLEDGEY's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have used R Handers with no problem. Got a Hatsan LH now and find it weird not to see the cartridge shooting out. -
I'm an Archer fan, so nothing new there. If you have the money then that is the route i would suggest. I use mine wine with a Leupold 4.5/14 x 50 scope. With side parralax or course. Digital eats batteries. I think digital has come on in leaps and bounds and will make a big impact over the coming years but for the moment I am still sting with tubed.

Deben now do one. I bought one and use it all the time.

specifically for the NS200 I don't know. But loads of people use them. As you said aim at the target and see the beam then look at the rangefinder. It is also easier if the rangefinder has a red display.

I wouldn't buy an n550, but it is a very personal thing. Boils down to budget. How much you got?

Check for head gasket I think' I had a 3 litre diesel, I will throw a "I think" in these as well. It was definitely a diesel And it was gas assisted which improved the economy and the acceleration by about 10%. Big and comfortable. It died and my local supposed 4x4 garage was an idiot and too expensive to contemplate fixing. Now have a good garage for servicing, If i had known then what I knew now I would have got a different garage to fix it probably at a fraction of the price. I liked it lots

Stupidly expensive but very nice. I wouldn't pay the 3k for one as they can be had for a lot less new. To be fair I wouldn't pay the money and bought a Tika instead. But then I'm poor. . If I was rich I would happily buy one. I'm not jealous....much

Hmmm, I bought one a few months ago. No idea what cartridges I fed into it but I started at 30 grain then made my way down to either 21 or 22 grain, can't remember which one it was. Yup thats right, 21 or 22. It cycled them no problem, not one jam from new. No idea what size cartridge it was but I may have to go and experiment to see if I can make it jam. I would love a browning maxxus but as a price comparison I paid less than £300 for the Hatsan. Just can't justify anything else.

I got a T-bolt. syntethic stock. Nice and light. Certainly lighter than the CZ. Trigger is a bit heavy but other than that you get used to it. Get the short barrel as they are now bringing them into the country. CZ has been around for yonks and plenty of mods for them. T-Bolt is lighter and doesn't have plenty of mods. But reloads faster than you can say "---! Really depends on what you like and how much your local shop will sell it for. I have shot both. They are excellent rifles. But I chose the T-Bolt as my favourite.

Shameless bump, but also just spoke to Jake from Nitesite and he has confirmed that he will be there with the unit. If any other dealers want to come they are more than welcome but I would appreciate a PM so I can charge you the appropiate fee (1 pint of Cider ) The numbers of kit and people who say they are coming is going up so looking good. Having spoke to various peole it is looking like we are gonna have pretty much everything. Even an old WWII niight vision. The only thing I never thought about was a Thermal Imaging device. I would like to see one of those. Darn. Now if everybody
