I'd credit that to military strategists. Even BNN said it had McMasters hand all over it. I'm firmly in the camp of "Public land hosting a private monument using public funds to maintain private monument." I wouldn't want my tax $ to fund it. It's funny how things differ in different places, I live in the back arse of beyond in Ireland and loads of people cut about pissed.....driving cars, tractors you name it and nobody gives it a second thought. I take a pretty dim view of it and people think I'm a bit odd for caring !!

I have followed the situation at Brey Wanderers, a decent local club but not getting the arses through the turnstile......Sligo Rovers seem to be having a good go at fighting for hearts and minds and are really putting themselves about in the community. That said, football isn't about one thing......it's all a culmination of different things. I agree with almost all of that Stonewall, you are spot on mate. The only thing I don't agree with is players moving, I think good players should always try to better themselves and test themselves against the best they can find.....if that means a move then so be it. I think the onus should be put back on local clubs and FAs to develope their clubs to a standard where players won't want to leave. And that comes back to the fine points you make, investment in facilities, acting in a more professional manner by clubs and FAs......actually taking things seriously. Great post mate.

Mate, you can't worry about it.......these people have their world view same as anyone else. They will always be looking to make a mountain out of a molehill and use it as propaganda to further their own agenda. I think we are both looking at things in a reasonable enough manner my friend, but I will go back to the statue and my real point was it dint really matter who funded it or erected it.......I would be a fair wage that after nearly a 100 years folk were not walking through that park in their thousands and grumbling about it........least ways not until some tit brought it up and made an issue of it for whatever reason he had. I won't argue any of that with you mate, I saw a couple of incidents myself and once again Sterling showed he does not have the physical capability (imho) to play at the highest level.......he will present no problem whatesoever to the likes of Italian defenders. He has skill no doubt but he is weak.

I tuned in last night at 57 minutes and I thought England made a really workmanlike job of it......kept the shape, pressed quickly transition and the game management in the last 20 odd minutes was excellent. You could not fault that last night, but as said, we will still come undone against proper teams......not much change there

Another bit of advice I would give you is be a nerd packing your kit.....same things in the same places in your rucksack every time so you can go right to them even in the pitch dark. As you use things, put them back in exactly the same place every time......don't "do it in a minute"......sounds a bit mental but beleive me it don't half make life easy. Messy discipline around your camp and kit can lead to some real pain in the arse situations.
