    The grandparents around the turn of the 20th century, I have a receipt somewhere from about 1919 where my grandad give the army £500 for a load of scrap which in them days was a massive amount of money.

    I think Chris’s point is that 26 MILLiON people keep electing these jokers......what we think really don’t matter because hardly anyone agrees with us. At the end of the day, it really is as simple as parliament saying “nah, ain’t doing that” but that isn’t the people 26 million voters keep electing.

    It’s obviously a publicity stunt but Tommy, he knew full well what was going to happen. However, wether you view that as a cynical use of these children’s plight or a way to highlight some stuff that’s going on is down to the viewer.......personally, whatever his motives, anything that’s a thorn in the governments arse is fine by me.

    The thing is, we are all shouting into the darkness........there is no appetite for change, folk are perfectly happy with the status quo. They don’t ACTUALLY care about a load of young girls being systematically raped, they have more concern about if the Bank of England is going to raise the interest rate 1% !     Is it that or is it that a country has lost its sense of morality and social moral compass which makes it OK to have 6 kids by 3 different fathers? Years ago the woman would have been ostracised in her community or maybe would have done that in the first place for fear of being ostracised.......now, she probably lives in an area with people exactly like her.?
