@Gypsydog94 Have you seen that operation in Saudi ?……over 100,000 cattle……permanently housed indoors and fed with imported feed from South America that they no doubt cut down thousands of acres of forest to grow ! How can that even be allowed to exist ? Wrong mate, just wrong !

My postman keeps around 180 cattle, beef operation. He couldn’t get the factory bloke for 5 weeks over lock down and that 5 weeks cost him all the years profit on around 30 or 40 cattle I think ? 5 weeks can wipe out a years work on something as essential as food !…….that’s a broken system imho

They nicked that share of household income mate to go off and play with, we used to spend 40% more on food and could do so because other stuff wasn’t as expensive. As I said, the blame lays squarely at the feet of the system……the same people who make the system are now telling you that you have to pay more to Compensate for the damage that system does ! Are alarm bells sounding to anyone yet ? Lol ?

I think a few are starting to get on board with better and dare I say more traditional methods ?, mixed lays, over sowing, multi species, no dig. Building soil health, lowering inputs. Farmers ain’t the enemy, the system is the enemy here imho.

Agricultural practice is (and I don’t believe intentionally by farmers) definitely one of the worst perpetrators. Mono culture crops, chemical nitrogen fertiliser, ploughing ! Even a mono culture will sequester carbon but as soon as you break soil again with a plough and destroy the root structure all that carbon is released back into the atmosphere. It also destroys the life in the soil and so it has to be kept artificially alive with chemical fertilisers ! As I said, it’s insanity !

Brilliant post mate, that’s about the strength of it…..it’s a total f***ing 3 card trick. I read that article and it mentions afforestation but to me it’s how they do it that matters. Over here they have planted massive blocks of mono culture Sitka spruce….it’s total shit, nothing lives under it and I mean nothing ! It not like a normal forest with broadleaf canopy and a diverse mixture of plants on the forest floor…..it’s a dead moonscape at ground level. That just can’t be as good as natural forest, surely and it can’t be packing away as much carbon either ? Mea

For the amount of times it gets used, it genuinely wouldn’t worry me mate. Edited to add: I don’t use any non stick products at home, it’s all plain iron or steel. But the practical benefit of non stick in a non domestic environment is fantastic and the risk only pertinent to the amount of times it gets used whic let’s face it, is no more than twice a day for a couple of days here and there. -

A great tip I once got and used forever after was a small, non stick, high sided frying pan…..it’s literally all you need and it’s practically self cleaning. Plastic utensils obviously which again are lighter. Bobs your uncle -

That listening stuff has been on the go for years mate, some lads got lifted because the old bill were plotted up across the road from a cafe they were meeting in and pointing some wizzy microphone at the window…..this was on the Old Kent Road ! Imagine the background noise there but this thing could target. That was 40 odd years ago maybe ? I did a job at police HQ in Surrey and their forensic/science building absolutely dwarfs the main HQ building ! That’s where the money is getting spent.
