  3. right just thinking about the above... im new to the terrier game, so bear with me... ive noticed alot of litters advertised as nuttalxgould and was wondering why this cross is so common?? does the mixing of blood produce better workers? why not keep the line pure breeding worker to worker from that line...i understand some of you lads will have been working/breeding terriers for generations and may need an outcross from time to time... i know what im trying to say but im in fear of answering my own bloody question...lol is there some thing in the mix, that can produce higher % of workers.

  15. cracking post buster....listening and learning....
  16. Pass them on mate, it's the only way. I know how you feel, every litter I've bred i tend to keep the worst one !!!. It doesn't matter how long you've been doing terrier work or how many litters you've bred if you can pick the best pup in a litter at eight weeks old then you're a better man than me. The only thing you can do is give them too good friends as I've already said and have a hand in there upbringing and entry, after a while of doing this you'll feel like you've got a massive teem to call on should the need arise and a much bigger gene pool to breed from which all should be properly t
  17. was just thinking the same....been checking my door mat last couple of days!!!!
  18. thanks for advice lads... and Busterdog... wise words, id totaly over looked the sibling rivalry part and by keeping them close, i'll get to see how the litter turns out without the headache!!!

  20. know what your saying Running..... im in no rush here... shes only 8months and will have to prove herself over the next 3 years... but i will seriously consider running on as many as i can... so i can learn what to look for in my pups and see how their temprements change... more rewarding aswel pal, when it works out.. atb. with your pups
  21. like you say rio, space, time, money all factors!!! but whats got me thinking for the future.... how do you know what you've got, when its gone.... how many pups pesonalities change from 6wks to 6 months.. how do you know you've picked the best when you've parted with the rest???
  22. having bred my bitch last summer hoping for a bitch pup out of the litter, my decision was made easier as to which one to keep back because she only had 1 bitch out of a litter of 5... this has got me thinking... how many of you lads run a whole litter on to help you continue your line with the RIGHT dogs... breeding worker to worker is a given... but by no means, means you'll end up with the same if you just keep 1.... so when looking for the next gen in your line/ dogs... how many of you run the whole litter on to help you make the right decision... sorry for babbling.. i kn
