    thanks for the reply donnyc... the BB stuff ive seen( in books) have all had good strong heads on em, not at all snipey... is that the norm with this line, cos thats what im after....

    thanks for the replys fella's... keep em coming!! when you say early starters are you talking 9/10 months?? self entered and did the job! did you then hold em back and keep em kean? or where they capable of holding there own from the off... sorry for all the questions... but i have yet to find any info on the brightmore stuff and would love to own a good un or two if im lucky!! one day.. thanks again. rich

    having kept and bred borders ...( bought for the mrs) family pets... my interest in working terriers has developed... ive recently read the fell terrier, middleton striain of working terrier... ive come across bill brightmore's strain... now dont crucifie me for this... cos i know if it works that is the most important thing, but we all have a type we have taken a liking too.. any of you work brightmore black stuff? or have you, and how'd you get on? thanks in advance.. rich

    ive seen a litter ad without contact details in kent... their out of brightmoor/ward x allott/breay lines... excellent working parents(QUOTE) any info on the above lines would be greatfully recieved.. is there alot of show stuff out of the above?? because the C.M.W show was mentioned in the ad.. im currently looking for a black bitch pup out of good honest grafters!!! thanks in advance.. atb..rich

    co chise and hector, thanks for your advise lads!!! just a quick question... like you've already mentioned above... alot of different lines have different blood in them. ive seen lots of ads for pups for sale quoting my "own line" when does a line become someone's own line when they've started with somone else's stock? hector.. the dog will be used for digging fella, im lucky enough to have a keeper friend who doesnt work terriers whose keen to see how i get on! thanks again fellas, atb rich

    thanks for your advise co-chise, totaly agree regarding worker to worker etc... its just going to take me time to find some genuine lads local to me(north yorkshire) with the right stuff....(3/4 gens of dogs] all grafters ive kept and worked gundogs all my life and bought the mrs a border 4 years ago.... and now im hooked....lol any lads in north yorkshire willing to show me the ropes, dont want to ruin a young dog through inexperience, or wait 14 months with a pup then ruin it... atb...... rich

    just wanted to add to MDC thread... as a newby to working terriers myself, ive been taken by these little black un's if you lads were starting out again from scratch, but knowing what you know, what line would choose?????? read so much negative about this line and that line not been what it was..... so lets just keep it to the line you'd choose and why!! just wanting to find out more from those that know before getting one mysef... thanks

    hi folks, im looking for some books on training/schooling the working terrier!! books ive read so far are all about certain terriermen and their exploits, have made good reading, but not geared up around training me or the dog!! any advice is greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance..... rich
