1. have you any experience with dogs in general..
2. If he's got 4 legs your laughting, bud
3. What i want in my lurcher is terrier, i like the terrier approach to work ,i admire it, it may be a bit reckless at times but i can deal with that. ,the drive that a terrier brings to any situation is second to none, Dogs only running the beam because they feel like it ,is bullshit, a dog picking his own rabbits to run or not to run is a non starter with me, If im paying his wages ie, food, housing him, exercising ,worming, picking up his crap if needed, well if im doing all that, i want committment, i know i get that with a certain type of lurcher, I want the dog to be my hero,i want to admir

6. You need to spend more time with her and work on the recall ,just you and her ,she's been switched on to work mode before she's had enough training, you need to take the obedient dog from home out in the field, that means whatever your doing at home works, but need the dog to relax while out and listen to out ,If youve been treating at home do it while out with her clicker with treats works for some dogs ,who like their grub, not all, The training is everything,,bud ,that means before you take her into the field , field craft is something she ll develop on her own, you need to work
7. There was a bloke on here a while ago looking to breed his way to glory and bright lights, through breeding rabbits, maybe youve got the start of his dynasty..
8. It's not, to old to start him at that age he ll be more mature and level headed, as far as learning to turn goes, the best way to let dog develop at that age is play..if you have another dog or a mates dog let them play, they learn so much about themselves through chasing and catching as pups , you can walk the dog for hours but he ll learn and gain so much more in 5 mins of play,,you ll be bang on for next season
9. Id like the get some opinions on this, a lot of lads come on here asking about starting a pup,Now , depending on what your going to do with the dog should dicate what way he's started,By all means take your pup out and get him used to the envoirment ,he's going to work in, but i wouldn't start a lamping dog off mooching and bushing and hunting up during the day, it leaves a lot of them when eventually they start on the lamp, with a lot of confusion to deal with, which often leads to a dog who will hunt up at night, In the same way, that you wouldn't start a coursing dog off, on the lamp...
10.

Looks like she has a bull lurcher by the collar, shouldn't talk about the women in your life like that..
11. keep him at home where he belongs at that age.
12. Markings on him ,give him a look like' theres a bit of foxhound in there, cant figure out what height he is from the pic maybe a bit of whippet, shit man i dont know. clutching at straws here..
13. He'll be plenty big enough mossy, somewhere in between the two i'd say, fine looking pup, shovel the grub into him and worm him regular,Take your time with him and he'll be bang on for next season..
14. I used to run a few plodders, 1st crosses nothing speedy, but found that most of the catch's on the lamp were made in the hedge ,where the dog would hit the hedge hard ,knowing the rabbit would have to ease up to get into passage through the hedge,,i can live with a plodder as long as they got plenty of bottle,.
15. With its breeding, it would be ideal for what your looking for,but you wont get a trial with a pup like that, too young ,go and have a look at him, a good look,He wont do much this season anyway,Would ya not be better off ,picking up a pup now, putting your own stamp on him and he'll work next season as well,
16. Sam, bet you there are lurcher men living near you there, lads who dont advertise the fact not like a lot of the type you mentioned, i dont know maybe its me but i love the course much more than the kill but that seems to have all changed now in the lurcher world now
17. Another thing i was wondering about,do you ever come across any of the big cats you have over there, and if so how do the dogs get on with them,
18. If you're running a dog in july Dan whats the temp like at that time of year ,the ground must be like concrete there ,that must play havoc in the long term with their joints, etc,
19. Depends what your going to do with him bud, with the nose in him from the pointer i'd start him lamping, but thats me, because he could so easy get used to putting the head down and getting on with it himself during the day and its a hard habit to break, start him on the lamp and he'll get used to coming back after the chase,Any particular reason you went for the pointer cross,,
20. Good answer rex,i think you're bang on there, 4 years old seems to be the age when everything falls into place, its getting through those first few years with all your marbles intact thats the tricky bit,
21. I've seen it in a few threads now, lads write about the dog been too fast, is it possible for a dog to be too fast or has it not yet learned to run clever, i would have thought with enough work that the penny would drop in the dog mind,or maybe alot of them aren't given that long.I know fella's have had talked about this where greyhounds have been involved, Has any of you ever experienced it first hand with lurchers
22. Would you ever slip a single dog or is it asking too much, what do the yotes weigh in at and with a single dog, would you have to dispatch yourself..
23. How do you come across them Dan,Do you hunt them up in cover,or drive round, call them in, the area's are so vast over there its hard to put it into context ,compared to the little lamping fields here..
