    arsepac

Death duty is payable on the estate before distribution to the legatees. Arsepac tried to get the other legatees to top up their payout to what it would have been without death duties. I assume the estate was to be distributed as, for example, half to arsepac, quarter to the surviving brother, quarter to the friends, after payment of due debts.. Death duties count as a legal debt and must be paid first. They still copped for 370k FFS Ric

Err - Lurchergrrl, Rob Furlong, the sniper who picked off a Taliban machine gunner in Afghanistan in 2002 at a range of 2657 yards was . . . a Canadian Ric

  4. Worth bearing in mind that it is legal to shoot Muntjac and CWD with "220 centrefire" minimum 1000ft.lbs ME. Hornet does not meet the ME requirement but .223 and 22-250 are well up to spec, and your oppo would have a better chance of getting .223 on a first ticket than .243 For Roe you must have .243, but you also need to show that you know what you are doing, so he could go for .223 and apply for a variation later Ric

And there you see why I oppose the death penalty. Hang him and he isn't suffering. This won't be the last of it. He's banged up with guys who are doing full life terms. They have nowt to lose, so they can do him over without the law being able to do any more to them. What's the betting some guy in there is working up a shiv from a spring steel shoe shank? The screws turn a blind eye for just long enough and he'll be talking in a very high pitched voice. RicW

Have a look at the Independent today. Can't set the link, but it's www.independent.co.uk. Front page lists articles, click on "RSPCA Bites Hand That Feeds It". A guy left £1000000, 480000 to the uno who, rest to family and friends. Arsepac took family to court trying to make them pay the inheritance tax on the £480000. I'm pleased to report that the judge threw the case out and awarded costs against the arsepac. RicW
  7. Meantime, back at the ranch . . . I did once pass a car at more than the speed limit, about 6 inches from his offside. I was riding my Yam 850 back through Leicester, new girl friend on the back. As we topped Red Hill, going North, obeying the speed limit, I spotted a Vulva tottering up along a road to my right. The car stopped, I saw the passenger's face as she looked up the road. Daft old bat. I dropped down to second and waited. Sho' nuff, the damn thing bimbled out in front of me. Blurgle blurgle, out into the road at about 0.5 mph, straightened up in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD and bimbled on.
  8. I know it's a pisser, but the man to talk to is your bank manager. Set up a business plan, look at outgoing expenses, costs, potential profits. Your capital expenses should be neglible since you have the tools - the guns - to do the job. You need to look at cash-flow. If the job can generate positive flow, go for it. If not, not. ATB Ric

  10. Right on. All bikers hate Volvo drivers. Ric :aggressive:
  11. There is a point here that a lot of people miss. A speeding ticket way back when has no effect on your suitability to get your certificate. But lying about having a speeding conviction will screw you up all over the landscape. They can and do trace you back all the way, and when they ask about convictions DON'T try to hide anything. It's the attempt to hide them that pees off the fuzz. Even if it was just a caution for having a piss in a public place tell 'em! Ric

My daughter is quarter Irish Romany and I am proud to be able to say it. So is she. Love the big accordion in the pics. My sister plays 144 bass Hohner with her ceilidh band. Pros't. Ric
  13. Tried that. Missed the bug but it made me head hurt. If there are any bug-hugging antis reading this, could you make a suggestion about culling bugs? Is this morally acceptable? Or should we let them lead their own lives until the entire planet is taken over by bugs? They do have a serious advantage over us. With at least 6 legs apiece it takes a lot more beer for them to get legless. Ric
  14. This one will run and run and . . .. As Colster says, cashing the cheque means nothing. They are just using your money to prop up their budget. Sorry to say it, but it means boogie all about your chance of getting your certificate. Ric
  15. I can't remember the address but the people you need to contact are a bunch of guys called "Coyote Callers". They love .17 Rem because it kills quick and clean but does not exit, so no pelt damage. They like to call 'yotes in to 50 yards. Have a look round on the net for them.
  16. As a member of the, ahem, older generation, I have difficulties coping with computer technology. A little help from a younger member of this site might be helpful. Thing is, I have a bug in my computer. Actually, it is in my monitor. Every so often, as I am trying to read my screen, this bug crawls out and scuttles across the screen. It may not even be a bug. It seems to have too many legs, and I think it may be a spider. It's about 2mm long, has 8 legs, and runs very fast. I have tried spraying the screen, with no result apart from making it difficult to read. The only time I tried spraying i
  17. There are two arguments here. No rimfire is really suited "for the purpose of" killing fox. You should ask for your rimfires for the purpose of killing small pests, and "opportunistic" fox. So if charley pops up 50 yards away you put a 40gr sub in his head and he falls down. For serious fox control you need a .22cf. Failing that, I'd go for WMR. But that's me! Ric

    Wanna bet?

Poacher - I think it would/will be the best thing possible for the people of this country. The politicians will hate it. So far as I am concerned, so much the better. If the politicians hate it, it's bound to be good for the rest of us. Hang the last politician in the guts of the last pressman!
  19. Hmm. How do you guys feel about culling the antis?

    Wanna bet?

Well I don't know! The odds against England beating Wales were the same as those against Labour winning a clear majority in the next election. Any takers? Ric (With spoon in hand!)
  21. Well, for what it's worth, I've just registered my third vote in favour of the cull As best I recollect, I was about 12 when they announced a bounty on greys. Every tail you took into the council office you got 2/-. ! That's two bob, 10 pence, good money when the average wage was less than &10/wk. Kept me and my kid bro in pellets.
