  1. Then equally unless you have a successful child with a million followers you’ll never understand either… see how that works? If you don’t agree with me then just don’t agree with me. No need to try to discredit me with some trivial rule on who’s allowed an opinion.
  2. I don’t know. If you remember I posted a thread a year or two back on a Netflix doc about the dangers of social media. How it is designed to be addictive and we are letting our children use this drug without any real oversight. I think that is far more dangerous tbh but these things need to be looked at as a whole. pandoras box is open now and there’s no shutting it. I also think social media can be a massive force for good and for freedom.
  3. Are you saying I expect it to be okay for minors to have only fans accounts and sell sex!? Im not saying anything of the sort. Im saying social media offers very successful and dignified careers these days, which is something completely overlooked by many of an older generation. I’m saying that this girl was probably doing nothing that literally hundreds of millions of others from her demographic are doing, just more successfully. And I’m saying that the parents weren’t necessarily particularly neglectful. I honestly think these implications of her selling sex and the parents pr
  4. Not being funny mate but I haven’t the time to ask every parent. And clearly there are two that are happy, hers. There are tons of other teenage kids with similar accounts. I wasn’t even arguing that parents should be happy about it. I was arguing against the usual internet lynch mob with chants of “slut” and “blame the parents” and trying to cast an alternative view of what the mob seems to be so sure of.
  5. Clearly not though fella, in this thread alone never mind everyone.
  6. No. Everyone who has kids clearly disagrees with me though huh…
  7. That’s a good balanced post. It’s maybe hard for people of older generations to understand but social media like instagram changed the world in a lot of ways for young entrepreneurs. There are really level headed driven girls/women out there who have used it and grafted to make themselves in a way that would’ve been impossible before. I’m not talking about women who just post pics in slutty poses and then sell onlyfans subscriptions but women who have built a brand, usually very attractive sure, but they work with companies to market their products and build their own portfolio of product
  8. A lot of judgement for the girl and I don’t expect many really understand her situation at all. I certainly don’t. Its very easy to trivialise her social media like it’s just something to entertain her but the reality is these days it’s a career. The girl wouldn’t have set out with that intention, as most don’t, but found her niche and took off. It’s real easy to take a kids toy off them but banning her from her successful profiles may well have been banning her from her only real shot at success at life. It’s a brave new world and ‘ban it’ isn’t going to fix very much.
  9. I don’t know what her ‘thing’ was on social media to get such a following. But whatever, she’s a pretty young lass, and reading the comments of any insta famous girl is a bizarre look into the human condition! There’s a shit load of thirsty weirdos out there that think they can make moves on totally random women online. I doubt at 15 she was ‘selling sex’ in the way adult insta models do. But no doubt her looks contributed to her brand considerably.
  10. The deviant matadwarf! No one laugh, it's not fair to mock.
  11. They're as common as those little ford things these days! It's put me right off them. I had to buy the custom H&H edition just so I didn't look like a prole!
  12. Oh go on then, if you're about mid August I'll take you on the grouse with me! But you're driving the f***ing Range while I drink port!
  13. For me, what would probably define British fieldsports in the eye's of a foreigner would be, Driven pheasant shooting - very different to what is typical in the states. Foxhunting - preferably following fell hounds in the lake district as it's utterly breath-taking scenery and it's hunting at it's purest. Stalking a hill stag in Scotland - it's just iconic. Stalking muntjac and water deer - not something that can be easily found anywhere else in the world. I think the fishing side of things is probably pretty similar to what you guys would already be used to.
  14. Tbf I believe the new military governments told them to leave. The French interventions in North Africa were quite surprising to the world. They pretty much unilaterally took action and quite successfully too initially.
  15. Logistics! You can have the worlds most lethal military, if you can’t keep them supplied you’ll be defeated by a much smaller force. Interesting factor though.
  16. FYI I'm not saying Russia invaded any of those countries, they've done plenty of that as Charts points out, but not in these instances as far as I know. But they are looking to gain influence and advantage anywhere they see opportunity to though. They use private military contractors to support the side Putin wants to win. Often these contractors are nothing more than serving spetsnaz who take their insignia off and wear a face mask. Similar to Western special forces operations. I'm not even saying that's wrong, lol. But people need to know that Russia are not a benign defensive state. Th
  17. I don't follow you? Their involvements in the countries I listed are much the same as they were in your example of Syria, just less well known. In fact there's speculation that the recent military coups had Russian involvement. My point is, they are playing the same game the West is, but many seem to consider it dismissible when it's Russian in nature.
  18. That's what is on record, off the record they've had involvement in Sudan, Central African Republic, Libya, Mozambique, and most recently after military coups in Mali and Burkina Faso kicked the French forces out and welcomed Russians in. That's just Africa...
  19. Since 2014 Ukraine were already 'on side', they were already making moves towards union with the EU and NATO membership. There's nothing really to be gained by the West through instigating false Russian aggression. This military escalation is entirely Putin! The defence industry don't even need it, they've got the rise of China justifying their next sales, which is going to be a huge pay day. I haven't said the West or the US are any better. In fact I'd say the last 20 years of disasters have led to Putin feeling emboldened enough to do shit like this. At least the West use uniformed troo
  20. "about to happen".... a month in invasion terms is pretty imminent. But it's really neither here nor there because it's one MP and I don't agree with him. My point is you seem to think Putin can do no wrong and it's all the evil Biden/EU spreading lies. What Russia are doing is in no way routine or benign. They're making a play, having already relieved their neighbour of land and in the process of actively relieving them of more. My bet is that full scale invasion of Ukraine is what they want everyone to believe so when they make their actual smaller move the world will think the res
  21. So if an invasion happens this weekend, they were wrong were they? LOL I disagree with that Tory MP, I don't think an invasion is guaranteed at all, probably not even the most likely outcome. But you're living on another planet if you don't think Putin is playing chess here with many options on the table and this 'training' exercise isn't a strategic move towards those options. He's already annexed Crimea, is in the process of annexing Donesk and just so happens to have amassed unprecedented forces on the eastern border, in their northern ally Belarus and on the south in the Black Sea.
  22. I expect a bank full of digital currency is of great comfort to a post invasion insurgency faced with divisions of enemy armour in their country. The thousands of anti tank weapons, MANPADs, and secure comms delivered by US/UK won't be of much use I expect....
