  5. in my opinion i would steer clear of somthing like a first cross colie /grey, whilst these dogs can be great hunting dogs, and can be easily trained, they can also be hard work at times. also you may be limited in what it can catch especily if you get a slow clody one from a litter. i would go for a good lurcher to lurcher mating, with a good propotion of sight hound in there make up, of course this is all dependant on what size of dog you want. if you have somthing medium sized with a short to brocken coat, its obveously going to be easier to to look after . somthing like whippet/gre

  12. yes seen it earlier its on the front page of aol , just klik on it. i read the hole story and to be honest theres somthing fish about it, ok the pic does look srange, but why did no locals or people from the wildlife come and remove it . aparantly the vulchers picked it clean .. BOLOX.. if any body sor that they would pick it up and ring all the relavent government bodies as well as the press , they wouldn't just leave it to rot, like i say somthing not quite wright about this story
  13. local pub / restaurant has them of me £1.50 skinned , but i personaly think its to cheap . £ 2.00- £2.50 would be a fairer price. but he does have 30- 40 of me at a time , about once a fortnight. mind you on his menue rabbit is £14.50

  19. ok i will add my bit, and this is not an opinion its FACT had a bitsa lurcher a few years back that had amongst other things in its make up saluki, colie, and wolfhound, she stood 23 ins and wieghed 44lb and this little bitch took fallow doe's on her own, FACT. i have no pics of this so, you will have to take my word for it . at this time i was doing a fair bit on these big fellas, and also had mates who owned little dogs that took them . having just said this i will also say that some times she would get dragged about a bit and it was obvious that a bigger dog w

  22. yes i also had a ferts of abbot brothers, they railed mine to retford station £5.50 each they cost. i had 3, 2 polcat jills and a hob, big lean thing i called fred he was like a yellow brindle thing, i had never seen owt this colour, but of course we now call this colour silver , and is fairly common. this was all about 25 years ago
  23. i know warrener gets some stick for some of his films, but he did a very intresting article recently for earth dog running dog about old time warreners , there were some good pics about 100 years old and some clippings from exchange and mart i think with lurchers for sale and a number of these were Irish terrier cross's. in some of the old pics you could see the difrence between the colie types and the terrier types. just goes to show its not a new thing experimenting with the terrier types
  24. thats it i will be up there at the first opatunity on a good night, freehand no problem  :11:
  25. well i hope you do enter the compition superstriker as i think sombody needs to represent the minshaw strain, and like andy said his is probly a little bit to old. dont wory about the ground being to hard as its not going to start till october. and whoever you get drawn against you can sort out between the 2 of you when to run. for example if its a full moon or there has been a frost you can leav it a few days. so come on get your name down, i would refaree( love to see one of your minshaws run) unlees im drawn against you
