  1. i will answer your question ALLGAME. about bull crosses and not staghounds. well actualy we do yous stags, it just that we call them lurchers, even bull crosses are still concidered lurchers. our lurchers come in a ranges of shapes and sizes , where as your stags are on the hole , tall and lean like deer/grey, i know theres a few other breeds in some strains, but that to us is still a lurcher. its just you lot down there dont know how to speak the queens english
  2. the mouse is an intersting catch, and one that is hard to explain as the you would think it was to small to trigger the trap, at the same time as being far enough a way to be cought. chalkwarren had one in his trap on the body grip trap video. well heres my theory, and its only a theory. do you think a mouse's tail is enough to trigger the trap , the mouse using it almost prehensile like a monkey, pulling on the trigger wires.
  3. whilst those cubys are great, to me its just another 6 or 7 £ i dont need to spend. all you need is some sheets of wire mesh, laid flat taking up no space at all, a bit of bailer twine forming a loop tied through them all along edge and easy to carry. i use the stuff thats only as thik as rabbit fencing but is rectangle about 1/2 in by 1 inch. by the way secaturs( spelling) for pruning make great cutters for this wire . you can cut your slots in on the job. find a likly set, bend your wire over the trap then just desgise it with bits of log, bark , or what ever you can find
  4. with regard to missing the pan on the fenn in a tunnel, wouldn't a small jump stick set at the right distance from the trap sort that problem . or a thin stick that will break easy, set above and acoss the inside of the tunnel, so the mink has to duck under. cow parsly would be good as its brittle but thik.
  5. I LIKED HIS ARTICLES BACK THEN , THERE WERE LOTS OF INTERSTING FELLAS WRITING IN THE MAG BACK THEN. THE DOG WAS CALLED FIELDER, AND I THINK WAS 1/4 BEDY X 3/4 WHIPPET
  6. the title of this thread thrown me slightly , i was under the impresion that it meant pure breeds , not cross breeds.

  12. you will probly need a lot of traps, but you may get a way with using 20, but it will take longer to clear. first thing is go and spend an hour or two kicking all the hills over. then go back in 3 or 4 days and trap the new freshest hils

  22. yes ditchy , it also cracked me up that one from millie. i will also say this though. if the fert was a bad biter i see nothing wrong with it being PTS humanly. but also im not so sure about escapees not being able to look after them selvs. there are ferral (escaped ferts ) wandering around our countryside and doing well thank you very much. so i dont agree that they cant look after themselvs. also look at N.Z a country that does not have any native mammals. escaped/ released ferts have survived well. dont get me wrong i know some people have picked up escapees and found the
