LAMPING DOGS FROM VEHICLES VS LAMPING DOGS ON FOOT
TOMO replied to trigger2's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
better for the dog walking i think because the dog is warmed up and streched before any work instead of bailed out of motor and expected to perform 100 percent can only speek for myself,, but i prefered to get the dogs by the side of the motor,, even then giving them 5 mins to just trot along and go toilet ect,, befor you run them proper -
LAMPING DOGS FROM VEHICLES VS LAMPING DOGS ON FOOT

yeh take the dogs off them, bloody hell fella,, you obviously want an argument just to add not evrybody that drives ,, chucks the dogs out the window,, some run along side Do some folk do that? Whats the point in that then. Surely now you are giving the advantage to the game you run as the dogs will be getting tired? I'll just go back to the other point about 'turning game' for the dog. As i mentioned its a bit of a cheat and is it purely for filling the bag?. One thing i have learned on here is that most lads that respect the game they chase are quite happy for there chosen quarry -

LAMPING DOGS FROM VEHICLES VS LAMPING DOGS ON FOOT

in some respects lab your right it is cheating,,, but you could argue any lamping is cheating... certainly when lamping rabbits from the truck, i cheat,, of course, i drive round the field clockwise , next to the hedge, and try and get inbtween the hedge and rabbit. other game is difrent of course in where they want to go -

same as tiny realy, of course alot depends on the land,, some of our farms up the dales it woud be impossible,,, but i have also drove some of the other farms with great results. unlike born to run,,, when i do it , the dog is running alongside the motor already, -

why are you getting all hot and bothered in the above post ,, its just your opinion,,, weather you wright the word "fact" after a sentance or not.... theres no way you can prove weather a rabbit is slower,,, because you cant then put the same rabbit on short fast ground..................you say its not the terrain , i disagree, the harder and shorter the grass, the faster that animal will be. this is the same with most animals , including humans,,, of course us humans difer hugly in speed individualy,,, i should know -

i do agree with a 2'8 and a few others , in genral the rabbits off the tops are bigger, and like giro said down in the bottoms, can be more normal size.... as for speed of the bunnys thats a tricky one,, and theres no way for 2.8 to prove either way, weather there faster or slower. but.......................like wilf rightly comented its the terrian,,,, my opinion is if you took a "DALE" rabbit lol ,, and put it on some lowland fast RUNNNING GROUND, i dowt weather there would be much difrence in speed,, and vice versa,, the tuffty long grass does slow bunnys down..............but thats -
i agree with gnash to an extent,, calling each other names on the pitch is just juvanie shit,,and to grass him up is a bit wank,, he should have just slapped the fecker and been done,,, and all this inquest stuff is a bit much. but i suppose the F.A have to be seen to do somthing,,,, of course terry has himself to blame,, why not just call the man a c**t,,, instead of a black c**t,,,,,
-
theres a masive difrence between running on it,,, and crossing it,,, ive never seen any dog run properly across the big 2 foot high stuff thats dry...........
-
just about to put her up ,, nice short name also
