  4. No mate,, she wasn't a known dog,, I just happened to be at the market,, and this fella was up from heartfordshire with the bitch,,, he was supposed to meet someone there,, but they never turned up,,,, I got talking to them fella,, he wanted 120 for her,, but I only had 60. I just liked the look of her,, she had that speedy looking shape of a greyhound, and she was what she looked fecking fast His words were she wasn't as good as his salukis at coursing,,, didn't have that 5-6 minsin her,, wich she didn't,,but believ me she had a good 3 mins wich I thought good for her fast type breeding,
  5. Now your talking, had that cross myself mate, the dog was a little small for my liking 24tts, I like mine in the 27tts range. What height was she mate? 25 inch baw,,, no frank never bred her,,,she's the only dog I've bought as an adult,,, 2 year old,,,a guy was selling her at Melton Mowbray cattle market,, I paid 60 quid. I only had her 2 years befor I lost her one day out coursing,,, ran a hare and never saw her again,,, she was chipped , and I did all the usual,,,police,, dog warden, RSPCA ect,,ect,,posters evry where ,,,, but that was the last I saw of her. Had I bred her,, then

  10. Can't see there being a problem today,, the temp is up around 6 degrees,, and there was a little drizzle last night, here at least it is fine for running,, between notts and Grantham
  11. Very nice mate, it's the best of sport,,, a word of warning though, I remember moll putting up a similar post,, and she got slated cos there were more than one dog on the rabbits
  12. Good points well made Carp. The stud fee these guys charge doesn't bother me simply cos I'll never be paying it but it is part of the bigger picture that coursing has succumb to, I.e all about the money. It does look like I'm picking on bulldozer but its merely coincidental that he is currently in the highlight. None the less he is a perfect example of my original point. A dog we hear tirelessly catching 5/5 but on the big stage, struggles to get 2. Back in the good old days a 3/3 dog was a rare breed, now we hear of 5/5. Are these dogs better than the old 3 dogs? Or like the trend shown by Gi
  13. Scotland,,, I live in the east midlands mate,,, and like you I'm glued to accuweather,,, I was out Friday after lunch and the ground was fine,,,, ran two killing one , And I can assure you the ground here in east was fine,,, you missed out
  14. Easiest way to make one is get , a bit of Rebar, about 18 inch ,,, get one end in a vice about 4 inch and bend it so it's a letter L shape no welding nessasery
  15. You need the end to be a bit wider than the rest of the bar, you then can feel the tube a lot easier when you break through.Thats why Mole dibbers are all made this way. Honestly mate,, you don't,, I have used both

Because as I explained in the last post in a net with good slack, IE; a good catching net with a 4" mesh. There are 18 meshes to every yard of rigged net. So as an example if the net has 180 meshes it will make a 10 yard net that is half it's stretched length or as some like to call it 100% bag. I can see you are a beginner just take the good advice you have been offered leave them alone. They are no good at catching rabbits. Please trust me. TC I could realy confuse him,,,,, what if there a 4 .1/4 mesh...lol. To be honest I think long nets work far better in the larger mesh, 2.
  17. Just realised, it's 10 years since I've been on the sites,,moochers first I was just a lurker for over a year just reading posts
  18. Very late start Saturday ,, as I was at work til 8am, so a 2 and a half hour drive up, picking vin up on the way,, by the time we were on the first warren it was 11 and the first warren produced 2 digs,,, feck me. It was only a 3 holer as well ,, this kind of set the Sceene for the day with a good few digs,,, we did get bolts as well but to much spade work for my liking on Saturday. In the wood we netted up two warrens next to each other,, mine being around 40 holes with vins around 20, they did bolt well in here, and vins dog Molly rely did us proud In there catching a couple of bolters t

I've still got a fair bit o get round so will be out for a few more weeks,,, although Friday we was on a bottom farm and had no end of young,, and loads of preggers does, whilst the tops we didn't see any

  23. All I can say is I've had these just over a year,, and they have been great,,, did they have the Kevlar ones ?
  24. Picked up shooting times, in the shop for a quik flick through and noticed an advert from bush wear ,,, they had harkila pro hunter gtx Kevlar 10 inch boots on offer at £ 99 ,,, there normaly over 200.
