    Netrigger sent me two types of braided nylon purse nets. I was impressed with both, they flopped easily when laying, and didn't pick up as much debris as other twines.

    I heard there were two young lads on one of my permissions, had a quick walk round today and picked up four nets they had left. cheap nylon.

    I would think not yet, but they will in the future, as we have had the mark1, 2, and now 3. Once everyone has bought the mark3, and sales start to drop, then watch this space.

    Totally disagree, i bought a mark3 for I think round about £140 which for a start is far too expensive. The noise they make does your head in, what was wrong with just the same kind of tick of the mark one. the depth gauge on the mark 3 is not accurate, there's lots of posts on here, saying it can be a foot out, and at £145 a pop you would expect it to be spot on. It says a lot, when I put up a post, Would you buy a mark1 if Deben started making them again. and there was a lot of Lads said yes.     I know this subject has been done many times, but I was talking to my local Butcher today, who told me an electric mincer costing about £100 will mince skinned rabbit on the bone, if cut into pieces. he says the trick is to freeze the rabbit, then when you thaw out, when its just nearly thawed put it through the mincer, it works a lot better than using it fresh. Do you lads think an electric mincer roughly this price would do the trick. I know the big heavier ones are best, but i find them too expensive for what i need.

    Not trying to bring your post down Lurcherlad, but this type of question has been asked lots of times. eg whats the best type of lurcher, whats the best cross etc. Although its important to be able to catch on a run, i put more importance on marking. A good marking dog, can save you a lot of time, and therefore put more rabbits in the bag. I also like a dog under 23 inches, as i know some Farmers that wont entertain large lurchers on their ground. My best was a Whippet X Bedlington, but presently working a young Whippet whom i am happy with. didn't think whippets would have a good nose,

    Ha ha, very good, any old bit of twine, string or rope will do, but a rabbit carrier has to be comfortable, i like the leather pad on mine, carry a few rabbits, and your twine etc, will cut into your shoulder. You can save money, with them, but mine cost the same as a roughly a couple of pints. handy thing to have, but also use my old post office bag.

    Not hand made, bought from Master Hunter Nets £7. Its made of 3/4 nylon webbing with leather shoulder pad, and swivel snap catches. I like it, very well made, easy to use, leg the rabbits and pass the strap through and click the catch to the ring. Will carry up to 20 Rabbits.

    Dont know if they are the best, But I feed Spinach with grated Carrot.

    Dont do much night netting now, but did a few drops in my time, with the trad, this is the way i was taught. I agree with what has been said, good for sneaking onto places you shouldn't be. A lot easier to run, and get over fences, than a basket. i use the quickset for daytime ferreting, but the odd time i go out at night, I like to run the traditional. used to always use a 100 yarder, but now its a bit of fun, so i just use two 25 yarders on a small set I know, don't pick up big kills, usually five or six. Just nice to run the webs the old way.

    I would just buy a couple, and then see if they will be a useful tool to your armory. how much are they, and a photo would be good. had a look on Bridports site, but they are not on.

    Can anyone put a photo up? i had never heard of them, till now, I know you can put lead lines on a longnet, but that's another thing i never fancied. As mostly working solo, weight is a no no for me, so would not fancy lead lines.

    If they are purse nets, cant see the point, I am always looking to make my pack lighter. Why would you need lead in purse nets, if you lay normal purse nets proper, you should catch.

    LC, It may be a bit longer than your design, its one foot five inches long, do you think the laundry bag will fit?

    Aye RA there's nicer things to have on a bed, than a Longnet basket.
