  1. Quote, Dogs don't like too much Meat Flavour, and Dogs prefer more Sweet. That Video is a great advert for raw feeding.
  2. I have a Whippet pup, now 14 Weeks, crated since 10 weeks, first night crated in kitchen, howled most of the Night, second night brought crate into the bedroom, pup slept all night, in morning moved crate back to the kitchen. did this for two nights, then moved crate at night to outside Bedroom door, again for two nights, then kitchen all night, and now sleeps there all night, used to whine at 6 am when I would get up, but then left him till 8 am, He is now 14 Weeks, I let him out at midnight and he sleeps till 8 am without a murmur, he is fed raw meat and bone, and has never wet or soiled h
  3. I have a 14 week Whippet Pup, who was weaned on raw, I was given about a dozen different complete samples, which I tried dry, and soaked in Goats milk, and also gravy, but he wouldn't touch any,so now I just feed raw, two chicken wings smashed with a hammer, for breakfast, then a variety of meats, Chicken, Lamb, hearts, and Beef I pick up at the quick sale at Morrison's, I also buy frozen mince from Iceland £3 a kilo, and Lamb rib bones. and some Veg, I am not complete Barf as I do sometimes give cooked Chicken, I also use Seaweed powder,Brewers Yeast powder, and flax oil. I know you can buy
  4. Yes, Yes, Yes. There are a couple of decent bred beddy x Whipets in the Working Bedlington Forum, under the post Bedlington X whippet by Alun 1960.
  5. My Bitch was 18 to the shoulder, worked day and night no problem.
  6. Cos the lad owned a whippet as a pet and then decided to give hunting a go Ok, well done, the first of many. :victory:
  7. Why is it his first Rabbit at three years old, just wondering?
  8. As Pedigree working Whippet pups are making £350 to £400 a pup, your price of 60 to pounds is a generous one, all the best with fore coming litter, what stud Dog are you using?
  9. Mostly ran Beddy x whippets, and Beddy x Whippet x Whippet, always liked a bit of whippet in my dogs, so I decided to go the whole hog, and got a pedigree whippet pup.
  10. Anyone know who does the best deal?
  11. I suppose it all depends on what sort of haul you are after, when I was snaring, netting, and ferreting, I also used to lamp my Beddy X Whippet, and half a dozen on the lamp was fine by me. If you were after big numbers on the lamp, then im sure some of the other crosses would suit.
  12. Years ago I ran a Whippet x Grey was going to use him on my Beddy X Whippet and Beddy x Grey Bitches, I never used him, spent all his time kennelled up with foot injuries, and he never ran plough ect, maybe I was just unlucky.
  13. I am also interested if you can post.
  14. How many years work would you get out of a Lithium battery, if you were using say three hours, twice a week
  15. I knew a little Bitch years ago, that was a prolific Hare catcher she was about 21inches, she could jump, but rarely did so, running at speed she turned to the side as she went through the fence, she had it off to fine art, and hardly lost any ground, if on a chase, and she came across pigmesh, she would jump, I know it looks well to see a dog clear barb wire on a chase, but I have also seen horrific injuries.
  16. Looking for a bit of advice, its a long time since I did any lamping, cant remember what size battery I used to use, I still have my 20,000 Blue Eye Lamp, I usually just lamp a couple of hours when out, would a 12 volt 7 amp rechargeable be okay. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Henry Dobie stayed about 10 miles from me, I went to see him as I heard he had a champion racing non Pedigree whippet. I saw the Dog in the flesh and the many trophies he had won, I remember him telling me, the dog was so popular on the Northern track circuit, that he had his own fan club, the reason I went to see him was. I knew someone with a lurcher that wanted to use him at Stud, which happened, but I never heard how they turned out.
  18. caught a hare with mixy last season I have seen one or two over the years, with scabs on faces, I put it down to Pesticides. Hares cant get Myxi.
  19. Good Wee Worker, couldn't fault her.She did a bit of work down Workington,as I didn't have enough for her, she went to a local Lad, who had a lot of ground central belt in Scotland, I told him, if he ever got rid, to contact me first, but its the old story he didn't and he sold her on, tried to find out about her, but never had any luck.
  20. I don't have the photo, but if you look at the Brightmore Terriers post page 1 there's a photo of a Bitch, I got directly from Bill.
  21. The one in the photo I have had it over 20 years, didn't use it all the time, useful when taking a young dog out Lamping, as been said just put the loop over your Wrist and you cant lose it.
  22. I suppose they get wise to the different types of hunting, my Whippet X Beddy would dive into hedges during daylight and pull out rabbits, but on the lamp, if a rabbit made a hedge she would slow up, and there was always a good chance the rabbit would break cover, and she would nab it.
