Nice one lads, good day out. Them ferret boxes simon whitehead sells are good, arnt they? I got one at the midlands and its excellent, lightweight and comfy. Is there much ferreting to be had on ochards? Only the biggest vinyard in england and one of the biggest in europe is only a few miles from my house... might approach them about it. Denbies they are called.

MK3 is a very good locator, can be out by a foot or so on depth depending on soil but always bang on top of the ferret. I think the collars are fine, they just need to be done up tight, which isnt a problem as they have thick straps...

I know what you meen about the cover! Thing is though, people say it is due to the mild weather, I can tell you we had 1 1/2 weeks of hard solid frost down here. The fishery I work at was frozen solid for the whole time and some days the car thermometer would read -7!!......Yet out last week and there were young nettles out! (those fuckers sting hard!) Im out tommorow hopefully get a few, H&J

Do a search pal, there is plently of info about it. If you do go for it without a collar, try to stick to more open warrens where there is less chance of them sliping off without you seeing.

Just wondering how is your season going in terms of catch rates etc? I am adveraging about 4-5 a day, pretty shoddy by most standards but for the few acres that I do, it isnt that bad We were hit hard with mixy at the tail end of summer, walking the dogs I would find a few dead rabbits evereytime out and alot of rotten smelling bushes. But it seems to have caled down quite alot since, we havent had a mixy in the last 25 odd rabbits we taken. ATB, H&J

I like a dogs name to end in 'y' ie Dusty (current dogs name). Just find it easier to call and sounds enthusiastic.

Is there such a thing? Just.....I have recently purchased a few 10z's and am not too keen, just not getting on with them they are too heavy for my liking but I also find 4z and 6z abit too light for where I use them......you get the point. So just thinking an 8z might be a nice net to use, anyone know if they are around? ATB, H&J

Nice ferrets mate Where could I get some of them bottle attachments to turn a coke bottle etc into a water bottle? They look handy as I am always droping bottles and denting the nib :crazy:

Could anyone give me any pointers on how to identify different deer species though there foot print? Namely Fallow, Roe and Muntys. Just I saw a few yesterday that were quite large and I think could be Fallow. I have heard about a few in my area, but never seen them with my own eyes. ATB, H&J
