  1. They are decent gloves, not cheap mind.
  2. Never been keen on roasting rabbit. Always stew or curry it myself..
  3. Gotta be worth a try for a tenner! Would give it a go myself but I dont know any aldis around me, plenty of lidls, but no aldis.
  4. and every time you post its either moaning or licking ditch shitters arse...so go and play with your ferrets ......and moan on that section ..... Had a look though my posts, and I dont seem to moan too much as for licking ditch shiiters arse, you sure your not getting me mixed up? Anyway, If you enjoy the monthly hancock thread, saying the same as the last one.........then fair enough, you are obviously easily entertained
  5. Pick your ferreting partners carefully :wallbash:

  7. Cant see th epoint either, The polecat was domesticated for hunting, why would it benefit from a cross to a wildy?
  8. Might be that you have too many bucks and it is just too unnatural, in the wild the does outnumber bucks about 10-1 or something like that.
  9. 5 rabbits bolted from one bolt hole? Why didnt you net it after the first? Sounds like a good day out anyway.. H&J
  10. I got a vintage one, has been fine to me I have dug quite alot with it too had it about a year. I dont use it anymore as I prefer the more bulldog like types, better for chipping away at hard soil. Luck of the draw I guess H&J
  11. This might be abit of an arm chair hunters theory....so bare with me I get the train every weekday, at 7:30am, and on that trip I go past alot of rabbity ground. There are a few fields on the way that I have seen litterally hundreds in Summer and..... On my train ride I seem to have noticed that I see the most rabbits out when there is a good frost on the ground and usually -2 or less! Not sure if it is a coincidence, but it is certainly what I have been seeing Daft feckers they must be H&J
  12. Personally I would rather a ferret with a real drive to kill a rabbit, that actually wants to hunt and stay with its quarry, than one of these amazing ferrets that never kills. H&J
  13. Just to add, I can see the point in double threaded nets in longnets etc where the rabbit is caught through tangling its self up in the mesh but with a purse net I cant see much advantage as in a purse net they are caught by the action of the purse, enclosing them into the net?
  14. Anyone have any thoughts on this book? Thinking of getting it just wondering what you lot think? ATB, H&J
  15. They look pretty uncomfortable to dig with The spade I use at the moment is this and I love it. I have also got a bulldog rabbiting spade and musch prefer the one in the link to it. They are fairly similar, exept the bulldog has a T handle and the planting spade has a D. I prefer a D, just find it abit easier to hold. The bulldog also dosent have a lip where your feet go, whereas the one in link does. If you give the spades ago let us know what they are like
  16. Let the dog inside the tent you horrid person
  17. Real tree makes absoltute no difference for catching carp!! There are a few select cases when stalking that it could help, but I doubt it would be better than a pair of dark trousers and top. Think of the angles.... from the angle a carp is looking at you from the water......the background you will be against is often the sky......last time I check the sky wasnt realtree colour If there are overhanging trees etc, then like I said there could be a case for it but IMO no difference to a standard green jacket. And anyway......I think it looks stupid anyway ATB, H&J
  18. Cant be long.....But it looks like a 'Bellman and flint' Google it.
  19. We certainly will I will keep you informed on how it goes. Got to say a big thanks to OldTrapCollecter. Few days back I put an add up asking where I can source cheap 4z stopnets.......about 30 mins later I get a PM from OTC offering to send me the dogs bollocks of all stop nets!..........for free! Not many folks would do that, top man
  20. I do have to admit I do love reading the old poacher tales and books. I do take it with a rather large pinch of salt though
  21. My deepest is about 4-4/12 foot through sandy soil, was quite east to be honest.... Dred to think what it would have been like if it was shale or the like
