  1. Scumbag here! Lurcher and terrier breeders leave a lot to be desired in many cases too, have a skim through this site! Retained testicles, undershot mouths etc... not perfect by any standards!!
  2. The Cavalier breeder who allowed her dog to sire 26 litters KNOWING he was affected by the brain disease he will pass on to his offspring, should be banned from keeping dogs altogether, let alone breeding them!
  3. Are you sure thats a domestic? Looks like a Scottish Wild Cat!!!
  4. Retained testicles is INHERITED and absolutely shouldnt be bred from, very irresponsible. Castrating him wont stop him working but it will almost certainly change his coat. Most MALE Borders coats go soft after neutering, if that doesnt concern you then go for it. You can ask for the retained one only to be removed if you choose, many vets wont though, but please dont breed from him as other pet owners you may sell to might not be so lucky if its passed on, strangulated testicles can and do kill dogs very quickly. The reason the retained testicle may develop a tumour, is because they
  5. I have always had pet Cats, think the world of them, at present I have 6, they are all confined to my property and cannot escape. My Dogs are perfect with my Cats, but hate with a passion any outside. A few moths ago they got hold of one in the garden that got in, but couldnt get out due to the fencing to keep mine in. Luckily I was there in time, and I managed to rescue the Cat, who had no collar on but looked well cared for. He appeared to have no injuries except for a bite on the back of his head. I scanned him with my scanner, he was chipped and he belonged to a family in the next str
  6. BlueCoyote. That last picture is excellent!!!
  7. Nope Cat owners are NOT responsible for them, they can LEGALLY do as they please! However if you have told your neighbours of your concerns, then IMO you have done all you need to.
  8. Weimaraners carry the long haired gene, its not some "strains" it IS the same breed, they can be produced in almost any kennel with the right breeding.
  9. Thanks both, much appreciated.
  10. I think it was a joke! Fiddle, get it???
  11. Quarry tiles would be better, they are not expensive either and dry quickly.
  12. Pathetic! Give the Dog a chance to find a home, like YOU said, its NOT HIS FAULT! Its YOURS if you have too many.
  13. Thats your opinion, Im ok with that, however I have been involved with them for 20yrs and I dont agree. They are a very "safe" dog if you want a loyal companion, that will guard you with his life, a Bull for me is totally useless and I wouldnt give one house room, doesnt mean other folk dont see them differently though. Perosnally i wouldnt dream of crossing ANY breed with another, I think Greys, Saluki's, Beddies, etc and the terrier breeds can adequately do the jobs they were designed for without intervention of anything else!
  14. Yeah I hear what you are saying Ben, but my two Dobes were fantastic. One I rescued, chained up for 3yrs and had "wobblers syndrome" yet he protected me with his life when we were approached yobs that had been drinking, and the only time I saw him show fear was when my brother came in and he had been drinking, I think the smell reminded him of the beatings he used to get from the drunken idiots that owned him before. Faced with the threat to me, he charged to the end of the lead and didnt budge an inch. My first one was the same, loyal and faithfull to his family, I havent met a breed that
  15. Then you were very unlucky. They are the most loyal and defensive Dogs to their family, they'd give their life for you. Like anything else when you get a bad one, it usually is!! This is the one I co-own, he's almost 7 and tis was him Sunday racing at the Greyhound track. Dawn.
  16. No, you are wrong. If it wasnt for the breeders breeding then all the health problems these Dogs face would be worse than ever, fortunatley, diseases like Von Willebrands and Cervical Spondolopathy can be successfully treated, and if RESPONSIBLE breeders tested ALL breeding stock the vWD could be eradicated in a short time. Sadly, for many people, money comes before anything else and health goes out of the window. You will find people that exhibit dogs ceratinly the majority do all relevant testing before breeding. Its not really fair to critisize show people, most of our native breeds w
  17. Sorry boys, I didnt realise. Im sure admin could help.
  18. Ive had 2 Dobes and co own a third. WONDERFUL, BUT they are quite unreliable at times. Police wont use them because sometimes when they are TOLD to do something, they look at you and say f**k off! Temperaments on the whole now are crap. more like lap Dogs, my friend has European bred ones, much better tempered, correct tempered, but many "pet" people would let them get out of hand. LOTS of health issues which is why I wouldnt have another, most loal breed though. Dawn.
  19. You can go through paypal and if you dont have a paypal account, you just pay by card.
  20. Im sure Clover is right on all counts!
  21. Could I show the pics to my friend? she is a canine colour genetisist and may be able to determine whether what you are saying is possible? What is the father, do you have a pic?
  22. You can get DNA tests done now to confirm parentage on Dogs, that would solve the issue for you. Just £21. http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_dnaparentage.html
