  1. I agree they are a more placid dog in as much as they are not so hyper. The breed standard (like it or not;)) also asks for big teeth.
  2. Very good condition, boxed and all software and instructions etc.. Will throw in 1GB Jessops CF card too. Body only. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d200.htm (review and all camera info) £425 inc p&p West Midlands area. For a friend, please PM if genuinely interested, will answer questions here if wanted.
  3. The shape of the head is that of a Border Terrier, the breed description. It asks for a broad skull and a short strong muzzle. They also should have good underjaws, deep. All pedigree dogs have their "parts" described, like Labs have "Otter" tails etc... This is my dog taken a couple days ago. Before anyone comes out with the snide remarks, no he hasnt been to ground, only been ratting, Squirreling, bushing and tracking injured Deer, all perfectly adequate for me thanks.
  4. I love this festival, I wish I could go! Id love to see Kauto regain his title, but maybe the Queens Horse, "Barbers Shop" could spring a surprise, I think that would be lovely!
  5. I wouldnt leave 8 dogs of ANY description together, if you warned him you did all you can. Poor dog.
  6. But if they were sold as Borders, irrespective of what you paid, you was still conned; plenty of people on here knock the KC registration scheme and - admittedly - it has been, and can be, abused, but at least the breed standard helps to preserve the breed. One good thing Daleboy, if it isn't a true Border, at least you won't have a long wait for it to enter. Notwithstanding, if it was a pure Border, what would have been Border money? £500? £400? Unpapered - £200? £150? Now it's not a Border, what's it worth? £10? The irony here is, if Daleboy had paid £500 and it was a true bre
  7. A true wheaten hasnt been seen for over 20yrs Nuv, it appears they have died out, shame.
  8. Yes Ryan that IS possible genetically, as is the long haired Rottweiler, the long coat gene cioming from its Bernese Mountain dog ancestors.
  9. Yes its hereditary in dogs, my JRT had it, had one eye removed, went blind in the other eventually, lived till 15 and a half, never bothered her at all once the affected eye was removed.
  10. No Mick, you cannot get a solid coloured Border, its not genetically possible. White on the chest has always been acceptable, mine all have it.
  11. "Blacks" are very different, their history is peppered with crossbreeds, Borders are not and you dont get solid coloured ones, sorry. The problem with it is, the buyer has been conned into parting with his money for something that isnt what its supposed to be, whether the breeder knows this or not I dont know, but what Id stake my life on is that the pups are crossbreeds and to sell them as pedigrees is wrong and dishonest. Doesnt matter what the dogs are for, how about a bit of decency in this world?
  12. Neither of them look like pedigree Borders to me, they are crossbreeds. if they have been sold as Borders, the buyers have been conned!
  13. No problem, I just wanted folk to know there were cheaper ones too. We always get the boarding kennel ones from Solway, very good service too.
  14. This site is excellent for all that stuff! http://www.solwayfeeders.com/ProductsResultsList1.asp?cat=10
  15. Yours is a grizzle and tan. Looks stripped out, the top coat will be darker when its in. This is my young male, he is red grizzle and tan. My bitch, she is a light grizzle and tan, coat just coming through. Older male, dark grizzle and tan.

  17. Wink Hound What a breath of fresh air! Scars mean nothing for many Terriers. I once showed a Patt belonging to a friend to prove a point. He had half his bottom jaw missing and was scarred around his head and muzzle. CHAMPION TERRIER!!!!! Oh yes, indeedy, a true worker, gained his "battle wounds" from attacking a bicycle back wheel and getting his jaw mangled in the spokes, same dog that sat on the owners sofa and wouldnt get off because the pet Dwarf Lop was chasing him when he did!!! Judge said to me "Looks like he's seen a bit" Yeah I said, and handed him back the rosette.

I dont know for sure why the BBC refuse to broadcast the Rotty but maybe it is because of these genetic ailments they suffer from:- Aortic stenosis Elbow dysplasia Hip dysplasia Cataracts Cervical vertebral instability Deafness Demodicosis Entropion Hypertrophic osteodystrophy Hypoadrenocorticism Lymphedema Neuroaxonal dystrophy Panosteitis Progressive retinal atrophy Retinal dysplasia von Willebrand's disease X-linked muscular dystrophy Entropio Whereas the breed in your avatar (border terrier, which the BBC has no

More to the point, why do the BBC REFUSE to broadcast the Rottweiler? Oh and Pedigree Petfoods did NOT pull out because of ANY TV program!
