Somebody agreed to do it but then said they couldnt so I am left struggling to find anyone. Im sure travel expenses will be paid, I have a lure if nec that Im more than happy to lend, but is there anyone that may help at all? Heres hoping........

  9. Thanks for the info, i'm just looking myself to take the plunge into the ocean of the SLR, looks like i'll be kicking off with a 450d.... but that sigma is the exact same lense i've been looking at ( and reading loads of reviews ) to go with it , glad you put those piccys up Dawn... its answered a lot of questions for for me, how do rate the lense, from a wildlife/ sports point of view? I know the canon equivalent is a hell of lot more money really appreciate your oppnion and advise.. The lens is very good, Im delighted with it. I couldnt justify over £1000 for the Canon eq
  10. Thank you, and of course I dont mind you asking. Im using a Canon EOS 40D, and the lens I used here was a Sigma f/2.8 70-200mm.

  14. Really sorry to read this. I paid £26 for a post mortem a year ago. Not sure where £1000 came from!! No anesthetic after all! RIP OFF and you'd think they would want to help the guy!!! if they opened the dogs up they could of seen what they had eaten at least. Really sorry he lost his dogs like this.
  15. Beautiful Byron!! Is it a youngster?
  16. Poor thing. Report it to the local wildlife/environment agency local to where you found it, they need to keep checks on them.
  17. If its ruptured it wont heal by itself, the leg will just become shrivelled, and the muscle will go and the dog will be in discomfort. If its just strained, which if your vet hasnt x-rayed he wont know or not, rest, rest and more rest will heal the dog and it should be 100% again. Surgery is very expensive and I personally doubt a dog would ever be fit enough to work again if the ruptured ligament was repaired. My opinion only, but I have seen many many cases of this over the last 16yrs in kennels. Very best of luck to you.
  18. Was it the cruciate ligament? at the back of her knee? If so, you MUST rest the dog totally if its only strained and not ruptured. If its ruptured only surgery will help, and them Im afraid most dont go on to work hard again, but most will lead a normal pet life.
  19. Actually Bryan, when the breed was first recognised in 1920, it asked for an Otter head, with the same wording as it does now. the only difference being, it said "teeth level" whereas now it asks for a scissor bite, but a level bite acceptable. It no modern fad at all. The wording may not have changed, but the terrier did, just like every other KC recognised Breed. Bryan I agree to a point, but as far as the head is concerned, its a lot closer to the original written standard than it was to begin with, so thats a plus point. Most are far more "Otter like" than they were before,

  21. The Border was bred for bolting or holding Fox, it was later on they used by Otterhound packs, where they proved profficient.
