  1. just replied to lurchergrirl at the bottom of this topic befofe reading your post.seems we have the same views!!! Yes I hate the things. My neighbour's fleabag sometimes craps at the bottom of my garden so I chuck it back over the fence. Funny thing is that she had two cats and one recently had to be put down after a stroke, the remaining one has now started crapping on top of its grave. 6pack, Just reread that bit, it was a pretty daft statement lol! Dawn B, Yes human beings have messed up big time, introducing domestic cats is another fine example. Id be more concern
  2. The 450d is a really smart camera and Im sure she will be pleased with it. Re upgrading, yes they do, all companies release new models, but Canon dont discontinue their models anywhere near as quickly as Nikon and Canon resell better too. I cant agree on the standard kit lens, I have seen some fabulous shots with it. I have several lenses and my favourite at present is a Sigma 70-200 F/2.8, was around £550 I think, I also use a 1.4x teleconverter on it. Its not all about the lens, you have to have the camera set right too, get a good bit of glass and know your camera and you will
  3. I dont think Im lazy and I own 6 Cats, I do however hate cleaning up shit that some lazy git and his Whippet leaves outside my house most mornings!! I do like how a human being will blame an animal for the downfall of the entire eco system, my word thats where we have been going wrong all these years!!!
  4. Love it!!! Hardly likey, it was dead already, shot of course beforehand.
  5. Not quite, but I didnt half shift quick, its burst out everywhere!!!!! These critters are amazing tough too, their skin is very strong.
  6. Your photography has come on loads Byron, its a pleasure to see, well done!!
  7. I have 6 Cats, all my Terriers are fine with them, but anyone elses is fair game. You cannot expect any dog to greet other Cats with the same behaviour as the do yours. Unfortunatley there isnt much you can do, except warn your neighbours that if their Cats persist on entering your garden, the dogs will chase and may catch them. Using your dog for ratting wont help or make things any worse in my opinion, keep your dog as a pet if thats what you have her for, perhaps teach a few more obedience commands, and at the end of the day, accept what her heritage is.
  8. Isnt it very sad when supposed like minded people result to such childish behaviour. I hope you sort it out Keeley, you'd think kids would stay in the playground!
  9. I heard a couple the other day, lovely!!
  10. Im not sure you have two conditions confused here. "Luxating Patella" is when the kneecap slips in and out of the groove, causing the dog to "hop" or skip when he trots, they very rarely sufffer any pain and will run, jump and play as usual all their lives. There is an op which will deepen the groove, so the cap cannot slip out. Although largely successful, personally having seen hundreds of Terriers with it, usually JRTs, Id not have an op unless it was very serious and the dog was suffering because of it. If it is LP, then it wont of occured as an "accident" its an inherted genetic fault
  11. It depends what she wants. Does she want an SLR? I assume by D90 etc.. she means the Nikon D90? Dont forget she will have to buy lenses for the type of photography she wants to do, otherwise a good quality compact will suffice.
  12. Wait till the stitches are out, then if the wound is completely healed, she should be fine.
  13. Ive seen some really good results with the Sony, so Id agree its a great starter DSLR. However, remember that if you want to progress, the Sony has FAR less lenses and accessories than makes like Canon and Nikon. If you are happy with what is quoted, then Id say go for it, if you do want to move on in future, then Id consider one of the other makes.
  14. Maybe give these a call, probably the best folk to help the dog find the RIGHT home. http://www.sharpeirescue.org.uk/
  15. You can see it here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/8041857.stm
