  1. I don't normaly post "nice knife/dog/ gun" comments, but, well, that IS a nice knife, and if I had a use for it, (not just displaying it and looking at it), I would buy it in a heartbeat !
  2. Take the poster to an auction house, they will appraise it and advise where to sell it.
  3. Just be careful. One of our biggest shoots has given us orders to shoot any dogs on sight, apart from two labs that walk on there.. he's always got livestock around, anything from sheep to cattle, plus it's a deer shoot. And before you go off on one about what you would do if your dog dropped dead bear in mind (A ) we're on night vision so you wouldn't even know we were there, and (B ) we carry firearms, skinning knives, machetes and 6 foot shooting sticks. And there's always more than one ! Just be careful and check all round for empty parked vehicles Surly just a wind up,,,,nobod
  4. "Shoot any dog on sight" , believe me, you would loose your FAC in an instant. The days are long gone when keepers could shoot dogs with impunity. The dog owner only has to say you threatened to shoot him, and an armed response squad would be on you. Let me tell you a true tale about keepers , poachers, guns and machetes; a keeper and three of his mates pulled two young lads and the keeper, being emboldened by having his mates with him, hit one of the young lads with a lamp, bursting his lips and breaking a few teeth. The other lad, fearing he was next, took a machete from inside his coat and

  6. You can write to the DVLA requesting the registered keeper of the vehicle. You need "reasonable cause" for this. You can tell them the vehicle was parked on your drive and you want to inform the owner not to do it again, that would be reasonable cause. I think it costs £2.50 for the information.
  7. Seems like a good deal, evidently he has scored on his debut for every team he has played for.
  8. Two possible causes; thermostat or compressor knackered. If it's the 'stat, easy and cheap to replace. If it's the comp, then bin it and by a new one. It's not even worth buying a second hand one these days, new ones are cheap enough. Five years sounds about right for the life span of white goods these days.
  9. Last week was official "Vegan Week" , and the House of Lords and the House of Commons instructed all their restaurants and food outlets to promote "Veganism" ! As I said before; who dreams these things up ? Politicians are terrified to speak out, apart from Farage, about this politically correct nonsense. They won't condemn Islam, in fact quite the opposite, Merkel condemned the PEGIDA marches, but joined a pro Islam March and made a speech defending it. Cameron, Miliband and Clegg would do exactly the same.
  10. I like my trout fishing and always have a rod licence , in all the years I've been doing it, I've NEVER been asked to produce it, but you can bet your life the first time I don't have one, I'll get pulled. NW talks about the size of the coastline, but I'd bet the river, canals, lakes, reservoirs we fish would have just as massive a mileage but they licence them for fishing. Any government, and Labour in particular, will tax anything they think they can get away with.
  11. The Oxford Union Library has said it will not allow any books into the schools curriculum that mentions pigs, pork, or even SAUSAGE, as it may offend "certain" minorities ! Fair do's, even the Muslim and Jewish leaders say this is insane. So who is it who dreams these things up ? Left wing appeasers, that's who........
  12. Cameron recently floated the idea of a vote to repeal the ban, again, this is because the Countryside Alliance has refused to be the Tories "foot soldiers" again, delivering leaflets, providing office space, donating to local campaigns, etc, so Cameron pretends to want the ban repealed, he will never do it, just as he wont campaign to leave the EU.
  13. They won't have to police the coastline, they'll just make charter boats etc demand to see licenses, or they will be prosecuted . Police will visit well know spots such as piers. Hunting with dogs is almost impossible to police, but it didn't stop them making it against the law.
  14. Labour want to raise the cost of gun licences from £50 to £200 if they form the next government. First they banned hunting, now they are aiming , ( pardon the pun), at shooting, next it will be fishing. They already have plans to license sea fishing. They are dedicated to abolishing anything hunting, shooting, fishing related, and even want to ban horse racing ! Think VERY carefully when you are putting your cross on the ballot paper in May............
  15. With ANYTHING politicians say, the "devil is always in the detail"; the Tories are NOT saying "any EU immigrant who doesn't have a job after six months will be sent home"; What they are REALY saying is " any EU immigrant who doesn't have the PROSPECT of a job after six months will be sent home"; see the difference ? Keep applying for jobs and they get to stay, even if they have no chance of getting the job they apply for.
  16. It was a very good match between Allen and Higgins. It was only about three unforced errors that cost Higgins the match, he looked on for a 147 when he missed a potable yellow.
  17. Well, the darts is finished, and now we've got the Masters Snooker. Top class up to now; Marco Fu's 147 clearance, O'Sullivans match yesterday, and I'm watching Allen and Higgins playing an excellent match right now. Allen thought the ref had gave him a slight advantage when replacing the balls after a foul shot, and told the ref, sportsmanship at it's best. Seeing the best 16 in the game playing each other is snooker at it's highest !
  18. Just stopping the c**ts benefits would be a start.......
  19. It's not just the £12 billion we give away every year, DfID is a huge department, with a Secretary of State, a Minister of State, an Under Secretary of State, and a huge staff with all the wages, expenses and pensions that entails. By the way, I wonder if people realise that the Popes visit to Britain was funded entirely from "aid money"; £1.85 million !
  20. When asked on the Daily Politics show where UKIP would get the extra money for the NHS, Nuttall, UKIPs number two, had no hesitation in stating "we would reduce overseas aid by nine billion pounds."
  21. Tennis players, rugby players fro And educational backgrounds ? Tennis and rugby from Grammar/Boarding schools, University..... Football, darts, snooker from Comprehensive schools. Not exclusively , but usualy.
  22. Scotty has already said the money will be life changing for him. He will ALLWAYS be a World Champion at his chosen sport, he'll be able to tell his grand kids about it. The trophy will probably be in someone else's hands next year. It's nice to win a trophy, but I bet he'd be just as happy today if there wasn't one. And when did they stop giving a runner up trophy ?
  23. Max, for players to qualify for the big tournaments , like the World Championship, they have to, literally , travel the world. It costs a lot of money in flights, hotels, food, etc, and even winning a tournament abroad can sometimes only cover your costs. Very few BDO players are under contract and get appearance money. Players like Scotty need all the money they can get to chase ranking points, so out of the cash, title and trophy, the trophy will come a distant third.
  24. Yes, I agree, £100,000 is a tremendous payday, but ask Scotty if he would swap trophies and cheques with Anderson ! We all know the answer to that ! The trophies I have WERE important when I won them, but being mainly pub league trophies, they unfortunately came without any prize money ! I'm not knocking the BDO, I've enjoyed the games on TV and the craic on here, but once again, I'm sure Scotty will enjoy the money, which will allow him to travel to more tournaments, than a trophy he hands back after a year .
  25. I've got a cupboard full of darts trophies, you can have them if you want.... They don't pay the mortgage; prize money does.
