How can you say Chelsea outplayed Newcastle ? Simply by looking at the facts, Newcastle won, so, ipso facto, they were the better team . But watching the game, Newcastle gave as good as they got, and won, so, once again, how could Chelsea have been the better team ? If they had been the better team, they would have won ! The record books will forever say Newcastle won the game, so it's impossible to say Chelsea outplayed them . Pmsl here!! He was on a protest march against rents being put up in some part of london, then it was found out he rents a penthouse in the same area for about half a million quid a year, and pays it to an offshore company that pays no tax. Mans a hippocrite, pure and simple.

There has just been a Lawyer on the radio, on this subject, if you are banned under the new limit in Scotland, you will also be banned in England. The "human rights" lawyers and "celebrity" lawyers will love this ! Just wait until some rich guy gets done for being over the limit in Scotland, but under the limit in England ! I'm wholly against ANY drink driving; but surely this throws up a huge question of law; if someone from England is breathalized in Scotland and is just above Scottish limits, but below English limits, they will be banned in Scotland, but why should they be banned in England ? Why should another counries laws apply to England ? If some one gets banned in, say, Australia, the ban doesn't apply here !

Gold goes down as well as up, but over the longer run it always ends up higher. It's just knowing when to sell. Buying now while it's down should net a profit when it starts to rise again. One thing gold has an advantage over jewellery, watches, wine, etc is that it is quoted on the stock markets so there is little chance of you being conned if you use a reputable dealer.

silkens go about 18" to 23"', they have nothing to do with rough haired whippets, they are bred from normal whippets and borzois. Back in the 60's there was the odd whippet that threw "rough", probably because of the bedlington blood, but selective breeding in the racing whippet has eliminated this trait. They still throw throw the "bull" type fairly regularly in the racing type, but not so much in the show type.

Modern ancestory,the Russian Borzoi type wolfhounds have never played a major role in the the development of modern lurchers,why is that?,the Irish Wolfounds have been useless before the modern lurcher developed,over 200 years ago,the American Stags were developed from English Staghounds,possibly the finest exponents of that type of hunting,ever.I still cannot fathom why the original Borzoi played little influence in the modern Lurcher,especially with what it had to offer. I'd say that was because the Borzoi was restricted to the aristocracy, (didn't the Czar gift a pair to Queen Victoria ?

Yes the Oz and US dogs are probably mostly descended from British dogs, but they took those dogs which had never seen a kangaroo or coyote and moulded then into the dogs they are today. So were those dogs the immigrants took with them the best, or did they breed only from the dogs that showed the aptitude to adapt to new quarry and conditions to create a better breed ?

I replied to this thread because the OP said Britain has allways had the best dogs; best at what ? I'd say Australia has allways had the best 'roo hounds, the US has allways had the best coyote hounds, the middle east has allways had the best gazelle hounds, Russia has allways had the best wolf hounds etc. It just seemed an ambiguous statement. Have we allways had the best rabbit dogs, best fox dogs, best deer dogs ? Who knows ?
