  2. Not so much as a way of life for me...More of a habit...Was brought up with dogs so it was only natural that i,d keep my own once i,d left home...Maybe these will be my last 2..who knows..by the time these 2 are done i,ll be pushing 50....if my hearts still in it then ...then who knows...atb stabba
  3. Imo they should be tapered all the way round so there,s no sharp edges...any sharp edges could damages the gums i,d have thought..jmo

  8. Just a quick post about how often you clean you kennels..ie runs and kennels ..also water bowl and feeding bowls. I clean/disinfect the runs at least every morning whether they need it or not(battles black). I also clean the kennel /sleeping quarters once a week. The food bowls get washed everyday(scalding water and fairy liquid. The water bowls are cleaned everyday also with fresh water added. Would just like to know how often you,se do yours...atb stabba.

  13. Anybody would think that the day walkers with thier saluki x,s are the only ones allowed to run hares...crops are down so hares are fair game to anybody with a mind who wants to run one...atb stabba
  14. Oh Shit..Aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhh
  15. I,d say a cover buster is essential in a daytime dog..be pretty much useless otherwise imo...As regards lamping dogs hitting cover ive got no preference one way or the other..they either do or they dont..Very close on quarry then i expect alot do...a good distance behind it then i cant see why they would..jmo..atb stabba
  16. Agree with Rocky...although my personal preference is the striker...ample enough for any quarry at range...atb stabba

    Bulbs

The strikers definatley come with a 100w bulb..there are no issues with the lens melting at all unless left face down while switched on for a good length of time....how a cheaper alternative lamp will cope with a 100w bulb is anyones guess..also when buyin a bulb make sure you choose the right make and model because there are alot of cheaper alternatives out there which to put it bluntly are absolute garbage..atb stabba
  18. Just wish the lurcher world were as like minded as some of the folk are on this thread..atb stabba

  20. As an avid believer in barf im going to put the cat amongst the pigeons here....For a long time i fed my my dogs barf..lots of flesh and bone with a healthy dose of veg thrice a week..they looked sound on it and were as healthy as anything...however..at the start of summer..say may time i switched from barf to a good quality dry food..purely for hygiene purposes tbh..ie flies and such...since changing to dry i have noticed no difference to my dogs overall appearence/performance whatsoever..they maintain weight just as good and appearence is just the same....so are energy levels. As for more s
  21. Tbh you can debate this all you want...the dog,s gone and no amount of should have,s could have,s will bring it back..the lad made a tough decision out in the field and maybe it was right one...in an ideal world we,d all like to think these decisions are made easily..but they are not. Hats off to all those who have had success with terrible injuries and hats off to those who have had to make the awful choice of pts. The world of running dogs is a fickle one but you must be prepared for every eventuality because everyday out in the field could be its last one...Be prepared folks is all im sayin
  22. You are doing the right by holding onto it mate till the right owner comes along...too many fly by nights on here who havnt got a clue how to see to a lurcher..never mind a bull x...hopefully the right person will come along and give a satisfactory home to the dog...a perfect animal to start the season off imo...atb with the sale mate...stabba
  23. Sod em mate..Stick to within the law and you,ll be sound..If they persist in hassling you then put in a complaint to thier superiors..atb stabba
