  1. I hope they dont ask my wife, as she`s dead against me killing anything. If he asks her what she thinks to me shooting cute furry helpless little bunny wabbits then i`ll never get my license renewed. As for asking ex partners? Are they on crack? Theres no way id want anyone talking to my cheating scumbag ex asking whether I should be allowed to have guns or not. Whats it got to do with her?
  2. Ive been keeping an eye on hushpower .410`s. The Pedretti is apparently quieter than the baikal one as its got a slightly longer moderator. Either way, prices seem similar. Usually around £200->£250 mark for a good one.
  3. I've seen no end of black squirrels near where I work.
  4. Ah right. Maybe I will go for another 410 but in .177. That way I will have one of both.
  5. . I seen the red on eBay and wondered what they were like as the white is great, Think ill have to also invest in the red and give it a try ! Me too!
  6. Nope, i was out last year in minus weather without any problems. I usually stick some trackie bottoms on under my dpm army camo stuff and its proper toastie. I did have to invest in some proper shooting gloves though to keep my hands warm without loosing trigger feel.
  7. Excellent, i`ll get some of that stuff then sounds ideal. What was it you couldnt get on with the rapid 7? Im thinking of getting one myself but in either .177 or .20. I`ll defo keep my .22 s410 though as its perfect for me.
  8. Rabbits learn quick. Ive had the same problem on both of my permissions. When you first turn up they dont care less, so you can get good bags. But after a few times, you only have to walk into the field and they will scarper. They get very nervous.. and understandably I guess! I find sometimes hiding up down wind within shooting range of where you have seen them and waiting does the trick. You may have to wait a long time though sometimes. Other times, its just down to stalking. Sticking to the hedgerows, moving extremely slowly and etch your way to them. If they look up, stop and wait un
  9. Nice! Ive an s410k too.. just rebuilt mine and fitted a regulator in it. Is that carbon effect wrap on the silencer? Looks nice.
  10. Unfortunately I have to agree with the comments about the B2. I bought one a few years back and spent a lot of time & money trying to make it shoot better. Even then it was pushing out about half the power it should have been done. Id spent hours zero`ing it in, then next time I went to use it would find it would be well off again. Still, I did get a few magpies with it whilst I had it. I found the silencer didnt make any difference to it, it was still a very noisy gun. There are guides online where people have tuned them up, but unfortunately the bottom line is, they arnt really
  11. .22 or .177 Looks like a nice bit of wood on it. EDIT: You posted the calibre at the same time i sent my post!!! Good luck with the sale!
  12. Think it was the case of see 5, count 1000, on the part of the farmer. He did the same about rabbits on his garden last year, after practically camping there for four nights, I'd seen two and bagged one. There are pigeons about, but nothing like the numbers he fears, that I can see. He has done a fantastic job of continuous daily harassment of their feeding spots, whilst it's seen so wet, that have moved the feathered casserole fillers on, in the main. That said, the rabbit population seems to be very buoyant for the time of year, after the wet summer stopped the hay being cut until Octob
  13. Some good advice here. I always keep downwind of the rabbits and if you move slowly along the hedgerow you can sometimes get within range of them. Alternatively you can setup a hide, or even just hide down the ditch and wait for them to come out. I also make sure I shoot the rabbits away from their holes as sometimes they can bolt a bit after you shoot them if your slightly off target. Lamp wise, ive had good results using just an old torch. If they arnt used to the lamp you`ll find you get quite good results initially but its the same as anything they soon seem to learn and get wary of yo
  14. What he said. Ive shot no end in my back garden. One thing id say tho, is be wary of your neighbours as some neighbours get a bit twitchy if they see you with an air rifle and may phone up the old bill saying theres a terrorist with a sniper rifle or something.
  15. My mates got one just like this and its very good.
  16. Thats a really good budget. For that id be looking at an Air Arms s410, Second hand. You can pick them up for around £400 including scope, silencer & bits. They hold their value, so in a year or 2 years time if you want something else you`ll get nearly every penny back. The rest of your money can go on either a pump (£120) or a divers bottle & whip (£180). Thats my personal preference, but id get down a local shop and try a few out if you can. I started off looking at a BSA then tried a HW100 then settled on the s410, but all of them are very accurate good guns.
  17. From the reports i read it wasnt to do with kids, it was 2 women in their mid 20`s (at the time, now in their 50`s), who claim he did something or tried to do something with them. Apparently it was 25 years ago, so if you think back at what telly was like back then, with benny hill show etc... it might just be what back then was regarded as "normal" or "playful", but now with the current PC times it would be seen in a much more sinister light. No doubt it will all come out over the next few months and we`ll find out what actually happened.
  18. Agree, plus you have greater chance of retaining anything on your hard drive. It must be the season for broken computers. Ive fixed 2 this year already for friends / family. What I tend to do these days is set everyone up with the google cloud - so route all email via gmail, save documents in google drive rather than my documents, link pictures to picassa, contacts etc.. so that way if anything goes kapoot, you just log into google on your new pc and hey presto everything is automatically synced. Hope you get it sorted!
  19. I had exactly the same problem on my s410 after switching from years of using a pump to using a bottle. Its a common problem with the old school male connectors. I tried to find a replacement one, but all the ones I found were slightly different to the one I had, so I went out and bought a complete quick fit connector kit from best fittings and fitted that instead. Problem solved! If you still need a new male connector though should it start leaking again, let me know, ive a brand new one I bought and dont need now.
  20. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/world-news/sandy-hook-massacre-americans-emptying-stores-of-assault-rifles-ahead-of-potential-new-federal-ban-16253265.html?r=RSS&google_editors_picks=true Assault weapons "flying off the shelves" in gunshops around america as a result of this shooting! As Americans "stock up".
  21. Tightening their gun laws will make no difference at all. You only have to look at countries which have very tight laws already and its made no difference to gun crime or murders. In all fairness, Americans dont have to ban guns etc... all they need to do is to insist that gun owners keep their guns securely locked away. What an earth was the mother thinking letting her kid have access to her guns in the first place. Had she kept them securely locked away and the keys hidden he`d never have been able to get his hands on them. Thats not to say that he couldnt have legally applied for his ow
  22. Id describe them more as a sneeze when you fire them. Certainly very strange experience when you first use one as your expecting the normal bang! The sound certainly doesnt travel far. As someone else mentioned, they take a bit of getting used to with the point of aim, but are fine once you get used to it.
  23. I agree, this kid clearly had mental issues from what everyone who knew him said and yet nothing was done. They just seem to have assumed he was a weirdo and left it at that. As for computer games & stuff like that, theres always been people claiming that games such as Grand Theft Auto would encourage people to steal cars, and games like Call of Duty would encourage people to shoot people. In fact, I remember after Hungerford I think, people were claiming Ryan had posters of Rambo in his living room and spent hours watching Rambo films (truth turned out he never even had a video recor
  24. I heard about this over the weekend as sure enough all the "lets ban guns" posts were popping up on twitter & facebook. So yesterday I had a bit of a look to see what happened. I assumed it was some nutter bloke with a big gun collection on the rampage again. But no. It was some goth nerdy kid aged 20, who according to everyone had no friends, dressed strangely compared to other school kids and didnt socialise with anyone else his age. He didnt have a job and spent all day playing on his computer. So already from the reports he sounds a bit strange. So how did he get guns? Well accordi
