Morton , what are you looking for in a lurcher that the foxhound will give u ? ..................... im not saying it totally shouldn't , if you want too add fox hound then crack on ,........if you don't want a lurcher too open up and hunt up when lamping then why would you risk fox hound , all im getting across is that , if you want a daytime lurcher that opens up and hunts up , nose down then yes add hound , but then why not use a hound ? im weighing up the pros and cons and I personally don't see the point adding hound blood too a lurcher , why not get a hound ? if people added more hound

you have a look at the royal artillery hounds what hunt across the plains , they look very racy almost like a lurcher but there hounds that have been bred for hundreds of years , the best too the best and the out come is the finer hounds what suited the terrain , don't get me wrong there will be a few too steady them , but its like any natural predator , the survivor adapts too its ground over years of evolution . but there hounds what hunt like hounds , put them in different country and it may not suit them like it does another pack, but the racier hounds have mainly been selected for the pla

heres my theory on it , if your adding any amount of foxhound too running dog ie lurcher , then exspect it too hunt like a hound , yeah it would add size and confirmation , it may open up when hunting , nose too the ground but there hounds for a pupose and I don't really see the point in mixing with running dog . modern English pretty fast over open ground but then lack in drawing because of size, I cant see the benefits too adding hound too running dogs , if you want lurchers too hunt like hounds then add what you like , but why not just use perfectly suitable hound , lurchers are lurchers fo

anybody who has too work a terrier too cubs , will know they aint that easy too get , they usually so tight that terrier cant get too them and are In such akward spots under tree roots , walls etc , and usually in rabbit earths , with little scent , there easy too locate at about 4 weeks old plus ,..... but found there hard too get , ideal too get a young terrier going , cant work out why u don't ask for help from another lad and get your terrier going ...

trapping can be very strange at times , know a farmer who had a live trap and had three adults in a week and the trap was so basic I couldnd believe it , they had too step on wire mesh before standing on the plate , mental really as I know places full of foxes and traps are A1 but they rarely catch ,...imo the bigger the cage the better , my mate has one on the shoot , you can walk in and those red ones are hard too catch in it , maybe because the food source around it ,......but the results from experience is they prefer the bigger traps ,.........but there are lots too weigh up , food sourc
