    It's nothing at all to do with that its toxic ,so is copper and what about all the chemicals farmers spray onto the land. It's purely political and the antis will try anything to stop shooting.. Once lead is gone they will start on copper next...and so on and so on. Just enjoy our shooting while we can as it will be destined for the history books one day ?

    Yep I am going to switch to copper in .243 once lead used up. grn Fox bullets are the way to go apparently...been reading that they hit harder than the 100 grn I use now and perform better than lead with nearly 100% retention. I will need to buy a new shotgun when switching to steel as mine is half and full choke ? God knows what will happen with the .22 and .17

    An exemption would be nice but don't hold your breath. They want lead banning and thats the end of it I think.

    Well due to the constant rain showers there wasn't much about , I was hoping for a crow or magpie. Ended up with 2 rabbits and 2 woodies .

    I never use my HMR so thought I would dig it out and see what I can bag with it over the Summer. Raining today on and off so wasnt expecting much but glad to be out of the house. Pulled into the farm and a few woodies in a field so got inside a barn which had a nice shooting window and bagged a woodie. I then went for a wander but nothing about apart from a roe and some greylags. I was only gone an hour and a buzzard had stripped the woodie bare , they dont waste much time.

    Just looked out of the window and a red kite was flying up the street ?

    Result ? Just use the .22 if after numbers as a lot cheaper. Be careful though it takes up a lot of time keeping numbers down in an infested area .

    Out last night with my mate , 2 jobs to do .....1st hen killer at the Hall and 2nd mop up cubs that the farmer had seen the other night where we took the vixen last week. We tried calling at the Hall in daylight , no joy so went back after dark with the thermal and again no show. Gardener has seen it through the day and the guy that has the larsen trap set has it on his trail camera. This looks like a tricky fox to get , not seen it yet but time will tell. The cubs were also a no show , not much luck tonight so headed to a field next to a small copse and right on last knockings 3 roe

    Wrong mate , the ban applies to rim fire, airrifle and clay shooting too. The ban is on sale and use of lead the only exemption might be indoor target shooting where lead is not going into the environment.

    You cannot legislate against nutters and weirdos .....it seems endemic in the USA and I don't think you will ever stamp it out.?
